Pyrrha Omega General Discussion

Gotta love that mentality. Why don't we bring back the knockdown on 2KB? Can we bring back Doom Combo too? I mean, maybe you guys shouldn't ban Hilde, maybe you should just deal with it. Algol's Bubble Shield? Deal with it. Twin Angels Spam B. But, of course, you played Ivy, with JCS. I'm not surprised you say: "Deal with it."
What mentality? God, what is your problem. You're new here so you don't know that most people here (except Sophie/Cass players) would like TAS B to be gone or nerfed. We don't even know the properties of this move yet so stop crying.

Also, just because you can't deal with something doesn't mean it's overpowered. Nice joke about 2KB and iCS.

The moment somebody moans about 2KB I immediately think "scrub" and ignore them, lol.
And don't moan about Ivy iCS, moan about SW 2A+K, CL 1BB+K, 9B and that shit =P

Considering that there is no gameplay footage of Omega Pyrrha's TAS B (or heck even a screenshot of her), and that you almost certainly have not played against/with her, I don't think you should be calling it overpowered in any way. Give me some evidence that it is. What are its frames? What is its damage? How linear is it? Does it knockdown? Does it ring out? Does it have the TAS B:4 followup? Can you combo 2 at tip range? You don't know any of that do you?

TAS B was no where near in the league of Hilde's doom combo. Knockdown on 2KB is perfectly justified, its massively unsafe/punishable when you do block it so it had better be good on hit. And then you bitch about her having brave edge moves? Wtf, every character is going to have those, heck I wouldn't be surprised if there is a brave edge version of TAS B. iCS, buffer in throw breaks against it, don't just passively stand there holding guard and letting yourself get command throwed over and over.

Heck, give me some evidence of Sophie TAS B being overpowered in SC4? Where were all of the Sophie players dominating tournaments? Oh wait, there wasn't any (to my knowledge nobody ever placed with her at a major tournament, I could be wrong though, certainly wasn't common). Step guard it, stay out of tip range, don't stupidly whiff moves at range, and don't do massively unsafe moves against Sophie giving her time to TAS B punish you. If you get hit by it, its your own fault for doing something wrong. Yes its a good move, but, you can't win on a single move alone.

Knockdown on 2KB is perfectly justified, its massively unsafe/punishable when you do block and on hit only gives like 25 damage + no knockdown if you have reasonable defence (Like Synraii does 90% of the time with ONE G input).
Fixed.

Dina in France, Ramon in USA - both placed with Sophie.

Ah yes the just ukemi on 2KB. I'm assuming this guy doesn't know how to do that. Plus if 2KB did knockdown in SC5, just ukemi is gone so it would become guaranteed (which would be why it doesn't knock down anymore).

I think NAMCO just don't like mitsu tbh - he got raped in the changes, lol.

Oh, I can deal with it just fine, actually. I'm just tired of, you know, actually having to work for my wins, while people get away with having one or two moves on their roster as all they really need to do to win a match. That's all. That's my problem.

Sorry, but there's no way you can win a match on high level play using only TAS B, 2KB or iCS.

I haven't payed much attention to Mitsu's changes, but, if his 2KB doesn't knockdown anymore, is it launcher unsafe on hit like his 2K~B in SC4? (lol what a terrible move)

Guess this is derailing the topic some, so to bring it back on topic:
Oh, and one more thing if I remember well: Sophitia's 11A,A_[A].
Is the charged unblockable version still too slow to be useful? Or is it Pyrrha's new version that is a guard break instead of being unblockable?

@andur
The majority of people, casual or not, believe sc4 TAS B was overpowered. I agree with this wholeheartedly.

As far as her winning tournaments, I see her ALL THE TIME at tournaments and Sophie regularly places in the top 4. Heck, even if she didn't place high, it seems like she's the most commonly used. I wonder why that is? :) Could it be that she's incredibly easy, high tier, and has 1 single move that trumps over half the move list on some characters?

I can almost guarantee that TAS B will be nerfed. If namco doesn't, then they shouldn't be making any more SC games, period.

It's like Wuht said, you give that move to any other character and it instantly becomes their top 1 or 2 move.

SC4 TASB was an OP move, but Sophie's mixup game anywhere but point blank was lacking. You got TAS B through good defence mainly.

You know what is sad? I played over a thousand matches online on xbl. I know, noob.

I put in over 800 hours of soul calibur play time since sc2 granted a lot of which was playing with outfits.

But I never have seen twin angel step, or perhaps I do not know it by name. I'm going to play sc4 a little :P

You should think: "Maybe they live in Alaska so they play a lot of online because their community for Soul Calibur is absolute garbage and therefore have issues setting up Just Ukemi online." But, you know, online doesn't matter because that's how fighting games work and you should just find the nearest LAN Party. Great idea, right?

No offence, but the match starts...

You're right. Maybe if we played Marvel vs Capcom, we should message them that they should take the third character slot out of the game. We already know that it should be 2 Characters + Wesker.

You're right, I agree with you. However, consider my standpoint. I am a player, who lives in Alaska, trying to be as competitive as possible without spending lots of money, because I'm going to school. My community is therefore garbage. I end up playing online a lot, because of that. Don't get me wrong, I love Soul Calibur to death, but I am a believer, that even in fighting games, things should be balanced enough where gameplay online and offline isn't massively different. Sure, many things I mention might have great solutions offline, and I recognize that. But sometimes, you have to think a little more than the select few people that go to the tournaments and can get access to these communities, because there's more people that can't than people who can. Yes, I also understand how that's what you get by going online. I know, I know. But still, as a hopeful future game developer, that seems...a little ludicrous to me. Just a tad.

Then quit bitching and do something about it. That's what we did and are still doing here. And DON'T pretend to have a valid argument from online experience and expect it to be taken seriously pal.

Don't like it don't play. And Doom>Wesker as an anchor. I bet you were one of the people who cried about vanilla phoenix?

It gets funnier in the last round:

I've always found it to be reactable offline. The initial 11A sure isn't, but, I find there is enough time to hold guard after being hit by that and waiting to see if the fast 11AA comes out, or if its being charged to 11A{A} and having enough time to hit her out of that.
