I'm probably missing an obvious thing, but I'm gonna ask anyway, how does one view and download other people's CaS characters?
 
Siegfried,Groh and Sophitia are my favorites so far. I wish I had better internet though -_- all of my matches were kinda laggy

If they do add him as DLC, I hope they make his design more distinct from the other lizardmen. If they want to reuse assets, they could use his SCV model as a base, and then remove the wings and whatnot.

that's what you get for release between 2 of the biggest selling games in this year... i knew it would be bad for SC6 but bamco is too fucking stupid to think about what is coming out in the western market
 
Wow haven't fought against 7 characters and other were like once or twice. The most I fought are knightmare and ivy. Also I'm not playing it alot like I should for my 1st full priced game in a decade. Starting to regret it now.

I think 100k+ copies sold of a fighting game on Steam after a few days would actually be seen as very good. After 13 months Tekken 7 sold 541k copies on Steam (and I'm pretty sure it was in several sales in the meantime, like Christmas or summer Steam sales).

You can compare against certain other fighting games (this is based on Steam sales data which leaked some months ago and note most of these games would have been featured in several sales and potentially been in humble bundles):
DRAGON BALL FighterZ - 444k sales after 6 months
Injustice 2 - 121k sales after 7 months
Tekken 7 - 543k sales after 13 months
KOF14 - 61k sales after 13 months (RIP)
GUILTY GEAR Xrd - 136k sales after 19 months
Street Fighter V has between 200k and 500k sales after 2 and a half years (SFV sales data was not part of the leak so this is from steamspy.com)
Mortal Kombat X - 1455k sales after 3 years
Ultra Street Fighter IV - 1306k sales after 4 years
Injustice - 1279k sales after 5 years
Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition - 1186k sales after 5 years (not exactly sure when this was released)
 
I think Injustice 2 got an extremely late release on Steam. I wanna say it's been out on consoles for months by the point it got released on PC.

And there's another thing which I think is worth mentioning when comparing SC6 to other fighting games. It's extremely likely SC6 has a lower budget than all the games in the list above (maybe except for KOF14 and Guilty Gear?). So it needs less sales than other games to turn a profit.

hm. i hope your right about that. or at least i hope bamco doesn't use the poor launch as an excuse to toss SC out because "it didn't meet expectations" or something, i really just don't trust them with the series at this point with the way they treat it.
 
steam is only a part of all the sales. for example, steam is not big in japan.

as sc seems popular with a dedicated fan base, they could really make money with DLC.

sure steam is only a part of the sales, and steam isn't big in japan

SC isn't big in japan either though... if T7 has sold about 2.5m copies over 13 months and since steam has about 500k of those sales we could infer from that and the 100-200k figure for SC that if SC were to follow the same trend it might have sold about 400-800k on consoles so far, so an estimate of sales so far could be between 500k-1m probably around the 800k mark
 
We don't know the console sales yet, right? I'll guess it's doing well there, it seems to have a lot of buzz and discussion, people playing it etc.

so it does seem that certain CAS clothing options lack "bounce" on females. which is...….like......totally unacceptable. :(

Great Scott, any notable ones? I know some clothes look like they "float" above the lower layers a bit, I usually don't use those ones.

By the way, didn't see a Libra of Souls story mode topic. I was wondering if Ivy shows up, and if picking "good" or "evil" choices would let you team up with Ivy, like how you team up with Maxi at the beginning? Unlikely, but I gotta know!
 
I have good news! I have finally found unused content among game assets! The bad news is that it's really trivial and uninteresting.

But here you go, an early version of SoulCalibur render and an unused Kyam portrait. So exciting!

The development team has been a bit sloppy in some regards. They could have had the portrait frame as a separate texture and flip some portraits on the fly rather than store them as separate textures. I imagine they would have saved at least 200mb by doing that. Another silly thing is that some re-used textures from SC4/5 are in lower quality because it looks like they re-encoded DDS textures from those games.

Oh that is cool, you're saying we will get an announcement of something soon but you just cant give any more details right now. I like hearing that we can expect something soon anyway. A lot of us thought it might be quite a while before we hear anything new.
