Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

From my perspective over the years voice recording across all works is mainly done solo. It's a luxury to have more than one voice actor recording lines at the same time to bounce off the conversation.
I agree, but usually they would at least also have context and/or audio and/or script to act off of, and for SoulCalibur III, it sounds like they just read lines off a sheet of paper with no context and just spoke every line with the same tone and feeling.

Yup and that feeling was confusion and the tone is "How many more of these do we have to get through?"

So...is something going on at Bandai Namco? I feel like DB FighterZ is also kind of lagging behind on their DLC, though that may be on the ASW side. The fact that they're both by the same publisher is noteworthy, though.

Well DBFZ is by an independent developer: Namco only publishes the game, so they would have only indirect influence over the timing of upcoming content for that game and the development priorities of the developer. Even more relevant, no resources of Namco's internal development team would be increased or decreased by the current phase of DBZF in the development cycle. That said its a bit of a slow period for Namco own internally developed games, I think we can say that much. But then, they like to play their cards very close to the vest. They could be in the middle of developing season 2 for SC and season 3 for Tekken, and are just stringing out the remaining S1/S2 content for those games, and we'd stand next to no chance of hearing about it. Or their teams could be busy on other IP altogether.

For that matter, remember that large portions of SCVI were produced by an outside studio. That could mean that SCVI's internal development team was always quite small, and likely much smaller still now--so it should be no surprise that things are going slow. That said, they were making pretty good time up until Cassie. That could mean the team has shrunk further or they are sitting on the Athenian scrapper. Or any number of things. But all of those caveats not withstanding, yes, I do feel like it's slow right now--I hope that's because they are sitting on top of content to try to maintain enthusiasm for Season 2, and not because the game's development is winding down.

I'm starting to think that there's more to it than just laziness or whatever. I believe they ARE adding more stuff other than Cassandra in the next DLC patch. I wouldn't be surprised if they added a stage (or two), new Critical Edges, and even more color alts. But if that was the case, then i'm sure that we wont get a glimpse of season 2 until like... 6 months from now.

If they added new CEs would it be like SF? cause that'd be awesome

If it is this then I’d imagine they’d add a couple of new stages to the game and more alternative colours. New CE’s? Ehhh...I have doubts on that.

This is a minor point but today is the first time I've seen not a sinlge twitch streamer playing SC6.
