Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Good thing he’ll finally be a real character then. Should solve everyone’s complaints with him.

A 15 year comeback worth waiting for because the similar weapons argument is so pointless because Project Soul has done a really great job in making characters who were once clones have a unique identity. SCIV Mi-na had no thought put into her & was the worst character ever. SCVI Mi-na isn't an after thought anymore like in any game before SCVI. Project Soul made Mi-na have a unique identity with an improved "Better for a fair gimmick" because in SCIII:AE & SCIV it was really awful.

I think it's always been like that in Soul Calibur.
Even attacks like Taki FC 2K don't have Tech Crouch for the whole duration, and can be interrupted by highs.
2A TC also seems worse in SC6.
And at least Taki has different TC frames for 2A(frames 8-12) and FC 2A(frames 0-8).

it wasn't like this, i used to punish ivy AA with taki's WRAAA but it doesn't work anymore

Hard to say. Not all full crouch attacks duck highs and some only tech crouch for a certain period of time.

but 2A was like an universal punish for AA and none of the characters are punishing anymore

It seems the yun-seong fans have downvoted the video showcasing Hwang's moves. I applaud them for finally showing some life! Though I hope they can use that energy to finally organize and get more than 5 likes on a yun-seong tweet....

(I'm not gonna lie though, it's fuckin hilarious... where the hell were they these past 2 years?)

I am not talking about tiers. But about one character having a good design with unique gameplay that makes her stand out. And hwang being a replaceable random CaS lookin guy with a style that couldnt be more uniteresting if they tried.

Is not a her, it's a him.

And are you sure we are talking about the same Hwang Sung Yung?

He has plenty of style with his attacks, flexibility and fluidity. His throws are some of the best throws visually speaking.

And he is a commander in the Korean Navy and his design in SC1 does relate with a military man. Add that he also has that top dojo student flair as well with his design.

This will always be relative to tastes so agree to disagree.

I like Hwang Sung Yung and disagree with him being a random CAS.

its not. 2A and FC 2A have different TC frames. Thats why when being force blocked into crouch block, you actually TC better with FC 2K rather than FC 2A

After having a long play session, I too think there's a bug with tech crouches not working properly. I need to test it but I'm sure my TC 22B/88B was being caught with highs at mid animation which shouldn't happen.

Waiting for him to be announced & are salty that Hwang comes first because Project Soul knows people would get angry if 2 dao users were in the same season pass. Yun-seong might definitely be the STAR of a possible Season 3.

Though it doesn’t include the new moves he got in SC3 and SC3AE this is basically hwangs bread and butter staple moves
Major props to the video maker, especially for digging out the Soul Blade animations like that (I've never played the game) but its a nice history lesson
Video was well formatted and presentation was clear, especially with the final shared screen comparisons.

Grabs seems to be animated well for Soul Blade standards, and have the animations generally conserved across the series. I especially like his back grab, with the elbow + falling sword combination.

There are a quite a few of those moves that also look decent, but I kinda recall being available to Yun seong (maybe in different commands)
2B+K
3B+K
66KKK
wrA+B
If they both return in S3, would they share these moves ? Or would the one released later get a slightly different animated version with different properties ?

I wonder if they'll give them different properties/animations sort of like how Sophie 236AA is mid/low and Cass is 236AB mid/mid which admittedly throws me off after the initial 236A animation. My guess for multi hit strings that start with the same attack, that Yun's will end with kicks (like wrAKK) while Hwang is just wrAB.

Whats the main difference?
So Yun Seong has a couple of stances: stationary Crane (with multi options) and a movement stance via landwalk/swoop that have 3 options.
Yun also will likely have a kick-based attack-throw against airborne (ie juggled) opponents, that would be used as a combo ender.

I have only one creative doubt, please Hayate fans ask him, wouldn't it be better if he used Assassin at Hwangseo Place or Egyptian Ruins/Crypt instead of Imperial Capital Ayutthaya? Nothing against it, but I thought it would be better with the Assassin.
(Every time I look at Ayutthaya I remember Maxi.)

random, but does anyone know who the **** Horiane Shueroe is?

If you type that name into google, you'll find the rantings of a madman who is all over youtube. I've seen that name on so many SC videos but I have no idea what it's supposed to mean.
