Howdy Soulcal Pals!

In case you haven't heard I am in the process of designing a portfolio based creation hosting platform. The platform is intended to supplement other CAS posting platforms like 8wayrun, Reddit, Twitter, etc... by providing a different way to showcase your creations.

All hosting platforms that currently are utilized suffer from the same issue, people post their content, and than their content gets lost in a feed somewhere either replaced by others creations or in the comments of others. The vision of this future site is that rather than allow creators to constantly post contant, they instead submit a portfolio of items (currently a picture of their 10 best CAS). This portfolio is than showcased on a unique profile page specific to that CAS creator that not only has a brief bio and categories of creations, but as well links to the primary posting area of that CAS creator.

Essentially the vision I have, is that this website becomes the most comprehensive listing of all serious SC creators showing the best they have, while at the same time still encouraging creators to still post on their preferred platform. If my vision comes to fruition, your profile on this site would be an amazing calling card that you would want to show off to others to get an interest in your CAS or follow you on your preferred posting area and also a great area to get inspriation from others. Further, beyond posting creations, the website will have a community curated blog where people can contribue CAS related wisdom.

Before I launch the site, I am setting it up in alpha with ten profiles just so I can work all the kinks out.

Thank you for creating the fantastic SoulCal Creations website! but, how do i register at the site? so i can submit my CAS there

funny, i want to create my own SoulCal CAS website using Miraheze but no avail

Miraheze is a wiki farm if you ask it's opposite of Fandom/Wikia. because of the Monobook skin. in as Miraheze have Monobook while Fandom does not have it anymore

The site is still in beta, so I'm sure this will be addressed, but the submission form is on the "information" tab, and you have to scroll down a bit, and it's in the bottom left corner.

@HappyColour It would probably make more sense if there was just a "Submit" link along the top banner, for accessibility, or at least have it be a bit more clear where to go to find the submit section.
 
@DanteSC3 yeah, I received that feedback from multiple people. I want people to have to go to information tab first so they learn about the site, but I moved it from under contact to above it, it is right in your face now in comparison to before. I think that when people saw the contact form they just stopped scrolling, which makes sense that's what I would do! Haha!

Just an update for everyone that the site is continuing to evolve in a positive direction!

We were having some issues with our submission forms, but we have made some changes to make it work better that hopefully is to the benefit of all.

Would love to see more of the talented creators in this forum set up a page on the site!

Just a quick update that people continue to post portfolios on the website, in current state we have 25 creators representing 12 countries already on the website! : ) This is great, we launched with 6 creator portfolios and we already have over 4 times that. Pretty exciting!

Hey soulcal palllllllllllls!

Just another update for you, we now have 35 portfolios and we are working on rolling out a few more features, just added titles under pictures in your portfolio for example. I think we are almost out of beta, just waiting on the Japanese being finalized, and swapping out the background photos on the site (they are pretty much all mine, and let's be honest, the only one who wants to see that many Hilde P2s is me!!!!).

Would love to have more of the talented creators from 8wayrun have portfolios on the webste! If you have any questions or feedback for me let me know.

Quick update! As you know, we were having some issues with our form that we have been troubleshooting over the last month. We just made some changes and we believe this means everything is now resolved. If you haven't submitted yet and are interested in doing so, now is the time!

Last step before we leave Beta will be to ensure that the Japanese language translation is all accurate. And this is currently being finalized with a translator as I write this.

Console browsers in general are rough, and I think that the website platform I am using will always have issues with them. The website is essentially too fancy. Have you looked from a PC yet? That is where it really shines!

Thank you my friend, I made a ton of changes today as well and I am now thinking it is looking superrrrrrrrrrrr slick. And now that the form seems to be working for the majority of users I am hoping the site continues to grow.

Making a good website is like making a good CAS, constantly need to refine and adjust things. Haha!
 
Due to a significant amount of requests, we just have launched our first Design Challenge!

Essentially how the design challenges will work is they will be evaluated by site admins, and at the end of the month the top tenth percentile of all entries will be used to populate the Design Showcase gallery. All other entries will be used to populate the submissions gallery below.

Check out the challenge if you are interested!
 
We are now up to 42 portfolios! And the site continues to grow.

Make sure to sign up, we only have had 3 creators from this site create a portfolio already, and we have so many more amazing creators that should show off their stuff.

As a side exposure we have had on the website is actually quite good, last month alone we had over 1500 visits. Considering that was the first month the site existed that is pretty slick in my eyes.

As well, regarding our October design challenge, we have had 7 entries so far, remember deadline is end of October and the top 10th percentile of entries are selected as winners.

Just another update for you all!

The site has left beta and now has full functionality as intended in both English and Japanese. We now have over 50 portfolios from over 15 countries! The site continues to grow, and in general the quality of stuff people are sharing, due to the limited portfolio size, is quite good. Make sure to set-up a portfolio if you haven't already.

On top of this we just finished our first Design Challenge, and will be running these challenges monthly going forward. If you want updates on the design challenge, follow this account on twitter. The next design challenge will be posted on Friday!

As well, a quick update for you, the site is continuing to grow but we are missing your portfolios!!! Get them up, so far 57 creators total!

Statistically the site is hitting over 1500 views a month, and the average visitor spends 15 minutes on the site. That means people are checking out the stuff on that is on their. Set-up a portfolio today and show your stuff off to the world!
 
Howdy all! Another update. : )

A few new cool things going on with the website:
  • November Design Challenge just ended, we had some solid entries. If you check out the page, you can see all the submissions and as well the selected highlights. We now have completed 2 Design Challenges. You can check out the page on https://www.soulcaliburcreations.com/design-challenge
  • In order to better integrate with the competitive community, we have created something called Champion Creations. Essentially this is a costume creation service we are offering to competitions. We already have a few tournements lined up! More information can be found on this page here: https://www.soulcaliburcreations.com/champion-creations
  • We have added a referral bonus to the website if you want more photos than 20. Essentially if a new portfolio is created that references you as the referal, you can have 30 photos total on your profile instead!
