Season 3 Wishlist

I guess it makes sense. If that is true, the REPTILE is Aeon, STONE is Rock and STAR is more likely to be Algol than Yun-Seong, honestly, I have yet to even see a good reason for STAR to even be Yun-Seong, while in Algol's case its really the best hint you can give with a name like that, so it makes much sense to be him.
Yun-Seong's name is spelled as 洪潤星 in Hanja, the last character 星 literally means "star". Similar to how Hwang's name 京 literally translates as "yellow". Similar to the way the first character in Setsuka's name (雪華) means "snow".
Not to mention how in the official SC character popularity poll Yun-Seong scored 14th place with 295 votes while Algol only scored 33rd with 59. By the way, Hwang scored 23rd with 193 votes, so the fact they even released Hwang only makes sense if Yun-Seong was already planned all along, otherise Yun would have got priority over Hwang.

Minor correction: 黄 is the character for yellow (read Hwang in Korean)

For a wishlist, I would like :

  • Rock (totally revamped, make him more of a mystical heavy fighter a la Kotal Kahn/Nightwolf from MK, adding more animal spirits to his movelist though keeping his mace)
  • Yun-Seong (obviously he's lacking)
  • Acht (I think she's definitely coming. She was so much shown in Story episodes and even presented on Twitter, so...)
  • ZWEI (to explain his relationships to Acht)

But if we have to go with a realistic approach, I think we'll got this :

  • Rock
  • Guest (eeewww)
  • Acht
  • wildcard between Yun-Seong/Aeon/Algol

Thank you so much for wishing for Rock! All people wishing for him make me so happy!

Be careful what you wish for.

I want the ability to assign music to characters instead of stage. There's so much music added to the game and it feels like the game keeps throwing you on the Indian port stage 4 times out of 5.

I want 2P costumes for everybody because making people go customize into previous outfit sets is dumb.

I want them to fill out the old cast since they're so close. So Rock, Long, Lizardman, and Yun-seong. Maybe Acht can fit in somewhere since they're clearly building her up. Maybe a pass of 5 is too much to ask for...

I don't give 3 fucks about a loli medium like Acht but if she is gonna be the new character, is very possible that she will be given the Viola moveset to make the fans happy.

I don't like her but that's probably Namco's way of bringing a new Soul Character and give the requested Viola moveset at the same time.

I'm not sure if they will give her Viola's style, since when we face her, she shape shifts into other fighters. But I would love her with Viola style

Seems really likely yes.

Also this. Something sure, if she's coming (90% accurate) her gameplay will be mystical.

SC1 Rock was perfect.
Personally my favourite is his 1P from SC3.

I think it would be better to just bring Viola in without a story as we will eventually get to that point where Amy does become Viola. So far SC6 has done a good job with respecting the original timeline, I don't want to see it ruined with convoluted time travel shenanigans like Mortal Kombat has. Though if it was I'm sure Project Soul will be much more careful as my conversations with Hideo Yoshie has pretty much confirmed the developers have all got lore bibles.

I don't think Acht is supposed to be a playable character. She can't even fight on herself outside of Astral Chaos.
There are 7 pairs of villains serving Inferno, they will be major CaS sub-bosses to defeat in SC7 story modes. We've got a tease of it in Hwang's chronicle. They can also be killed off with no consequences to the actual roster. That's the purpose of this whole set up in my opinion.

Yeah they will be similar to Gabok, it's just a shame Project Soul won't have the funding to do these seven properly with their own unique movesets and looks. They don't even have to have extensive movesets like the main cast, just a pool of moves the size of those in SC1.

For season 3 i want Rock back reworked with a new trainconductor fighting style. I want yun but i want him to be exactly like hwang with red hair.
I want a guy who looks cool and does "this". Umm and as a guest character the guy from death stranding and his crates.

As far as balance is concered they should definitely buff chars like amy and zas repeadetly to see how much more it takes to get them banned. And i want calibur Tennis. OwO

Rock, Yun-Seong and Aeon - released in that order - make the most sense to me for a third season, even ignoring the leaked codenames.

Algol and Viola (and Zwei as well now, between the recent stuff with Acht and Hilde's Soul Chronicle before then) have already been set up for SC7, so I doubt they'd make DLC out of those characters, at this point.

If the implication is that they'll play significant roles in SC7 - then introducing them now, without much relevance to the plot as it currently stands, is a waste of resources IMO.

But, yeah:

Rock (wielding a war hammer as his primary weapon, although I suppose there'd be maces in CAS)
Yun-Seong (wielding dual butterfly swords, similar to Revenant in SC3)
Aeon (wielding dual axes, unless they'll stick with the sword-and-shield combo as seen in SC1 for continuity)

I'd rather have Li Long back (wielding a meteor hammer or kusarigama, or some other type of long-range flail) than for them to give us another guest character - but that's unlikely to happen, so the obligatory guest character for Season 3 can be whoever Bamco pleases, lol.

If they were to add Yun-Seong, they wouldn't replace his moveset, but while I'm generally the guy that doesn't see a problem with repeated weapons, I don't think they would add Yun-Seong, because he feels too much like a lesser Hwang. Don't get me wrong, I know they can easily make their movesets distinct enough, but when it comes to making them DLC, it feels like a stretch, DLC characters that had weapons similar to other characters were similar to ones from the base roster (Cassandra-Sophitia and Amy-Raphael), selling Yun-Seong after selling Hwang doesn't even look good to promote, because a lot of people will think they're too similar.

If one of them was in the base roster, I'd absolutely agree that the other could be DLC, but both of them? I don't think so. It doesn't help that Yun-Seong doesn't really have much to add, and storywise, he is kinda similar to Hwang as well, with his relationship with Mi-Na. Algol feels like a much more likely add, he has been teased in the story already, he has potential to set up the events of the next game and his moveset is very unique (despite Azwel covering the theme of using the two swords), so I think he has a better chance to return than Yun-Seong, considering that both can be the "STAR" thing.

You mean like the bonus characters in SC3?

Half-baked bonus movesets are a waste of time and money.
A much more reasonable thing to expect would be 7 new specifically crafted CaS costume sets made with the same amount of care as the main cast costumes. Also it would be cool if those 7 sub-bosses can have non-generic faces. But hey, maybe SC7 will have a face editor to begin with instead of presets, one can certainly dream.

Not exactly because a lot of those moveset took moves from the main cast.

I was thinking along the lines of them just being single player content characters where you can't take them online, much like Inferno. Their moves don't have to be balanced and providing their movesets have a level of flow to them, the amount they have can be kept to a minimum. Keep in mind that Project Soul will have all manner of animations that are either not in use or have never been used at all. I won't deny that this would be lavishly expensive, but with the way Gabok turned out has got me excited to see the potential of the other villains, I even wish for Durer to have his own unique moveset as he's an interesting character as well.
