I think it is pretty fair to say that the large majority of those attending the Level Up event had put money on SoulCalibur V finally being announced and they weren't disappointed; The latest instalment will be set 17 years after the previous game, will be available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 with a currently vague release date of 2012.
I take some time to interview Producer Hisaharu Togo despite the entire soul Calibur V crew remaining very tight lipped on details. However, we do chat a little about the story and why everything is now set 17 years post SoulCalibur IV. We discuss the the changes to the fighting system with the key words 'lighter and faster' and the changes made to the Soul Calibur and Soul Edge. Finally I ask two questions that you guys seemed to be most interested in; will create a character be back and will we see new guest characters?
