Soul Calibur V - The Master Apprentice the Final Knight
Seasons Greetings!
In this 3rd Christmas special, we take one last look at the infamous scene that took place at the edge of the icy North Atlantic bay in SC4. Then we move 17 years later and we find Rudolfo, the anti-hero of our story, is still up to no good in SC5.
Some people have asked if I could make a film using Soul Calibur V. For a while, this proved difficult because of all the technical changes in the new game due to change in behavior with the in-game camera. However after some extensive testing and experimentation, filming proved possible. It requires a bit more work and patience due to the camera self-repositioning during replay loops resulting in more takes between shots and shorter cuts. A little bit more ingenuity is needed during scene composition when putting the sequences together during editing. But in some instances, this results in a scene with the illusion of having a more fluid dynamic camera motion that translates very well especially during high action sequences.
Hopefully I'll be able to make more films using the new game in the near future. It will be interesting to see if there are any other tricks to deploy. Christmas videos are suppose to be quick and simple easy to do but this one proved a bit more challenging.
