    Raphael General Discussion/Q&A Thread

Interesting stuff. So what were raph's biggest weaknesses aside from lack of tracking? Did he struggle with TC moves like he does on sc5, and were his stances easy to read or counter? I imagine prep was way stronger when it comes to mixups because it seems to be a even more vital part of his...

Generally you want to be at a slight disadvantage, something between -2 and -10. SE A on block (-6) is a great opportunity for this. Your kid is awesome btw.

Do you stop prep after prep AB? Because that leaves you at -16 and the range you get isn't enough to avoid punishment against most characters, especially because you need to be very close for prep A to land. Bojack has a point, Raph could use getting his sc4 prep K back, or any sort of fast low...

I noticed that 8A+B sends an opponent high in the air if you hit him while he is jumping. It also works with Yoshi's flying stance. How do I make use of it to do more dmg?

I don't think any option is completely invalid on any mu. If Apat isn't expecting Prep or Se he is not going to insta 2363B on reaction, and if he tries he won't do it in time and get hit by stuff like Prep K or a Se move. I still think that hitting Raph out of Se on reaction is a dangerous move...

The only thing that I fail to understand is how can high risk low reward moves enhance gameplay. For every situation you brought up there are better options, moves capable of resulting in much higher reward for considerably less risk, which makes them more effective and more reliable at the same...

This soul arena is pretty stagnated, everyone's practically ran out of things to share, so discussions are the only way to have some activity. If you want people to let go stop leaving posts meant to start controversies, and ignore us yourself. The reason I don't think a video will prove much...

Just Bojack? Your posts say otherwise. And uploading the match probably won't prove anything.

Yesterday I fought a super skilled Leixia player, who is much better than any of you scrubs, even though I can't name him or even prove the match actually happened. I won by landing a super risky And readable move, but I don't know if it was because of my crazy skills, or lag, or lack of matchup...

Never do SE B Prep BBB CE, it's not worth it. It does 115 guaranteed dmg and doesn't allow for much oki pressure aside of 1A, which has crappy dmg. Instead try SE B 33K BE Prep BB for 108 guaranteed dmg and lots of options for extra pressure like SE K and Prep A+B, it's significantly more...

I really feel like you could benefit from more pokes like 1A and 2K. I didn't see you try these once, I don't think you give your opponents enough incentive to duck. More frequent throw attempts would also help at this, it's one of raph's best ways to kill step and at the same time it'd make you...

Well, I've tried some fancy "strings"before for huge damage, and they fail 90% of the time, even if iI set my opponent up to get hit. I can count in less than half a hand the amount of times someone got up after 66A+B BT B. From my experience, it's much more profitable to get the huge guaranteed...
