  • Still though. I don't think anything can top the stupid A.I. in the original four .hack titles. Boy am I glad they fixed that in G.U.
Thats why you didn't experience the stupid AI. The main quest is essentially easy mode. The character quests have some really fucking hard battles. Notables would be Dark Chloe and the final boss Swartz. The final battle is hard as fucking hell, and this is where the moronic AI will make you want to throw your controller at the screen.
Right. Norma, that's it. Also, no. I didn't bother doing anything postgame, since I had other games to play and beat on my list as well, so I just moved on to something else.
lol..well..I can't say I shared the same experience with ToL as you did. My party consisted of Senel, Will, Chloe, and the girl in yellow (I forget her name at the moment..the treasure hunter) and they were all pretty useful in their own way :P

I never had a problem with stupid A.I., lol. I can see how some people might though.
Most game endings suck so I never expect much in that department. The battle system was flawed such as giving commands to moronic healers Shirley and Grune. You can only stack commands and the mages (even if set to the farthest distance) will run right up to the enemy and begin casting. In the final battle the AI makes it so freakin hard because your party literally is dumber than dirt. Plus since I bring the people I like the most that equals two worthless mages so I have to rely solely on Senel and Chloe.
I know you was referring to the main story of ToL. It wasn't mind-blowing as I said before. In fact, I was a little disappointed with the ending, but I didn't have too much of a problem with the battle system.

I liked the Overdrive (was that what it was called) which made time freeze. I didn't really have a problem with Will casting magic though. I usually just gave him instructions on what to cast, but that's another matter entirely I suppose.

ToL was an alright game overall.
Actually I was only referring to Legendia's main story, but its battle system was broken IMO. Mages suck and add the fact that they are so dumb that they have to run up and charge magic right in front of an enemy. Battle system=bad
Well, the Tales games aren't really mind-blowing as far as stories are concerned, lol. It's the traditional Japanese RPG. Save the world in X manner with X amount of characters because X wants to do this and that to the world.

As for the main story being on par with Final Fantasy..it really depends on which one. Honestly, most of them don't have that great of a story, but the battles are what keep the series together. I didn't give a rat's ass about the story for FFXII, but the battle system was great, so I kept playing.

Well, then I eventually stopped because it was turning into a grindfest, but that's beside the point. The Tales series is kind of like for me though. Always has been. The story has never been that exciting, but the battles are definitely awesome.
Aside from my hatred of Jay and Will the main story was easily on par with Final Fantasy. The character stories were complete crap though. I still cannot believe Chloe didn't kill that bastard whatever his name is. Lame
Yeah, I heard about what happened to your save data for SCIV. That sucks :/

As for being better or worse than Legendia..well..I think Legendia was pretty solid the whole way through. I didn't have to wait for it to get good. Although, the case of ToA left more of an impression on me.

It's honestly kind of hard for me to say which is better. I liked them both. That's just me though.
Long story short, I disliked the first half of the game, but loved it afterward. As I suggested in the ToA thread, if you don't feel like playing the game, just watch the anime. It follows the game like a T.
I could be asking you the same thing, lol. Not very mature of you to post a visitor message with this nonsense. You can PM me instead.
