Raphael media =/

there are a total of 5 in that series.

4(B)~prepBBB not as powerful as before, but its still a solid TC, and looks to do marginally more damage than 1K CH into combo.

As mentioned in a post in another thread, 22B NH into BB does not connect unforunately.

That is a problem because if you dodge a high move upclose using SE, there is a fat chance your SE B will whiff (which would otherwise have led to a 30% combo with BE per Utoh). SE A doesn't guarnatee that much, and we have not seen any good knockdown pressure (too early in the game's life i suppose) to see what options are available.

I usually just hit Voldo out of that with a 2b or something, provided he's just DOING it and doesn't set it up with some advantage or thought behind it.

I wonder if 33KB (BE) will allow for a 33KB followup.

33B is pretty monstrous damage for a low poke, which is nice (guess the damage from his 1A got shifted over).

And, maybe its just me, but tip-hit prep K seems to knock them back on guard, so it'll limit punishment options.

I love how crazy he sounds and the laughing. That's going to be fun, haha.

Epic voice aside, Raph seems to be coming together nicely. Some cons to his style, but that's to be expected. Raph is never going to be top-tier.

Btw, did they slow down the game?? Raph's speed looks to be the same as in SC4 again. Not that it matters.

If those are French players, the vids are fairly old and just now being uploaded. The game was sped up a bit from older builds to the current version, I believe.

click part 3, various raph action sprinkled in starting from 28 minutes.

Filthierich mentioned raph's strength in terms of pokes, and that his BE may be so solid that it may be the meter-usage of choice (over GI and CE apparently) because it improves his pokes and CH potential for knockdowns (at approx an hour in)

From my limited view, his evade definately has a small window, and it must happen early because we're constantly seeing it do nothing (1:02:45 ish it fails against mitsu' 4B late)

Nothing is to be gained from watching lizardman destroy raphael.

In the raphael v lexia video, filthie again confirms that 3(B)~prepBB (BE) is guaranteed on CH. That is awesome news, as in SC4 raph didn't gain much from pokes "accidently" becoming CH and the player can't do anything better

If 33KB (BE) can allow another 33KB, that would also cause great damage if you don't have enough meter for a CE.
Sounds like it might be air-influencable though.
And is it just me, or is his 236B better on block than before?? The opponent is forced to bend back onto the knees upon impact.
A long-range FrC move would be nice for countering some turtle-styles, especially if Raph's SG damage from SCIV carries over as Guard Meter damage. FrC is also nice for cutting punish options down to 2A and 1K against a lot of characters.

Also, will 22A on CH guarantee anything??

CE is guaranteed for sure (at close and mid range). Have yet to see anyone try 6BB (guess its up to us upon release).

One thing i forgot to mention in another video posted: When raphael connects with SE A (forcing the opponent to go back turned), if he follows up with 6BB, the first hit whiffs for some odd reason as the opponent turns from backward to forward. I dont' think they crouched as I don't expect any move to be guaranteed, but its just a minor nuisance

Finally saw a successful auto evade near the end of the Destructoid stream. Slightly underwhelming, but at least it's more functional then the SC4 teleport. I'm going to greatly miss evading into a stance, but I guess I got used to it in the last game. At least the roses are classy.

forgot to reply to this comment:

FrC attacks can backfire very quickly against the alexandra children with their 236B signature moves while being largely still spammable against the other chars (which are usually lower tier) as evidenced in SC4.

I know you're thinking about moves like his SC4 44B and 9K that gave you enough time to step most moves (which would now be B+K'd)

Heh raph looks really strong this time around specially if his sc4 wr a has sc4 frames
edit holy shit vampire throw does a ton of damage...thats gonna be strong
