I just want people who aren't good enough to know their own weaknesses to stop analyzing the game and the developers decisions as though they were. Sorry if that offends people.

Wait, no I'm not.

I think they should take some notes from TTT2... Which is give us a ''DREAM" game with all the characters of the past... lol

You may not be saying that after you get randomed out by a string you've never seen even though you were playing the game for over a year because the game has 50+ matchups to learn, or get hit with a crush move that beats your jab and you get wall carried for half your life into an unfavorable okizeme mixup which ruins the rest of your lifebar.

That being said, I heard you wanted to get into Tekken. You certainly have the reaction time for it; but trust me on one thing: Being good at SC and going to Tekken doesnt seem to work out well, mostly because you trained yourself to think by playing SC, and reaction is a part of the game but not the dominant part. Tekken is predominantly numbers and execution consistency. Thinking is there (I'm not saying it's mindless at all), but be prepared to grind through so much bullshit you may never see the point where your thinking comes into play. That's like top 1% of play.

Oh yeah its IdleMind btw, this whole post makes no sense in context if you think I'm random forum scrub 2342342.

Whoa whoa whoa I am a Raph player and I know how to use him. I agree he is no rush down character; in fact, that's suicide with Raph. Just be defensive wait for your opponent to make mistakes and then punish or counter. Wait for openings for fancy big damage combos. Raph may be linear but he has ways to stop step too, especially in SCV.

Edit: Idle really is blunt :)

Amen, broheim. It's almost as if you're playing a fencer! You PSN or XBL?

And to maintain something resembling thread relevancy: what Idle said.

Used to be on XBL but not right now. Hopefully I can get back on soon once I get school and stuff settled.

Man, every time people talk about Raphael, I realize that no one knows how to play him. He gets great damage off of whiff punishes. He's linear as shit, but I'm not as convinced he's an OMFG RUSH THAT SHIT DOWN NAO character like almost everyone who plays him against me seems to think.

As long as you're not playing ZWEI, your character is viable. I'd love to say "even ZWEI isn't as bad as people think", but if I did it'd only be because he's actually worse.
When I played Raph, I relied alot on spacing and that seems to be a pretty good point with him.
And you can't say Zwei is bad because my wolf boy is barely used. He's difficult to learn and other bad points such as bad throw range, can't really punish, etc puts ppl off. The only tourny player I've seen is Toilet who uses Zwei. And I don't think you've fought enough good Zwei player. He's a beast when he gets going and you'd be surprised to see the traps, set-ups and A-tier damage he can dish out. Should give a shout to the zwei SA for some matches. I'm not a zwei worthy player yet in my opinion but we can have some matches if you don't mind.

I saw someone in a video use Zwei's B+K BE post JG. That shit was boss and I always wondered how effective it would be.
That'd be really effective especially when it hits. All of his BE moves are really great (except for 3AA BE which is -8 if guarded) but Zwei's B+K BE is also probably his best BE move because of the setups. It does about 56dmg+more with your combos and it's unique in the fact that if you use B+K right before or right after, Ein will still appear right after. Doing any other Ein moves cancels the BE move. The only trouble is setting it up, best done when opponent is done or else you'll lose meter if Zwei gets hit and it cancels the move.

But yea, I'm still waiting for more people to play Zwei and realize that he's like the god of setups. It's like in the beginning where ppl were whining about Viola's low dmg until they discovered how good she was. It just takes time I guess.

Yeah I know about all that stuff because I dabbled in Zwei for awhile but he didn't mesh with me so I dropped him. I think in that post JG situation you could get a free hit B+K BE depending on the move JGed and getting a throw attempt in to stop step. That's if throw breaks don't dismiss Ein's attack. It's been awhile since I played him.

Just Guard is an awesome mechanic though and I hope it stays in every new SC from now on.

Exclusively on XBL, sorry man.

It is a good feature, I'll admit. Was a bit overhyped, but I understood because it was a new feature to the series.

It was just my opinion. Wasnt asking for anyone to agree with it. Geez. Besides IDLEMIND, im not leaving SCV to play Tekken. Im leaving cuz the community sux. I just wanna learn Tekken to have fun with it. Thats it, thats all. (^_^) b

P.s. Thx for the compliments.

Hey I agree. Having fun is most important :) but you would want the combat system to be as fair as possible. I won't get into details but PS needs to change direction, stop with all the nerfs, and give back all the modes we loved!!
While I own SC4, i’d hardly agree with anyone that the series was doing very well at that point considering SC has a stronger following in the West than in Japan, I’d recommend they work on prioritizingwhat people want a bit more. i'm skeptical about how the sequels will hold up.Personally If SC would go back to its gameplay roots we may still save this series. SC5 is ''fun'' yes but isnt ''Soul Calibur Fun''. Call me a purist but, can you blame me for wanting it? I never liked Street Fighter or Happy-go-lucky characters. I kinda feel more enclined to the old cast a lot more. I'm just not sure what they should really do. Do people really like these new characters? They're not even original.

"Soul Calibur - Eternally Retold" Only on Ps3 / 360." Sounds good to me. It would be epic if they could abridge a summerized Tales of souls mode for the history of all the characters leading from SC1 to SC5 just to get everything coherent.

She's just an annoying little girl who says to repeat the same thing over and over. I don't see how people get attached. Well I can understand if that character experienced something similar to one of your life experiences but if they get replaced just move on. Oh and chances are you haven't had a life experience where all you said was "Wind, wind, wind, wind, wind."

Probably a nostalgia factor, but even that I can see some validity. I mean, Talim became an icon on her debut because she was original and brought something new to the former cast which itself was still being built up into the stapled faces that were presented to the mainstream audience. Soul calibur to me is one of those fighting games that was made iconic because of its roster. Most people can name the veterans by heart even if they play alternatives like Tekken of SF.. even IGN knows who mostly everyone is and they hardly know anything in general. There isnt anything that really makes SC stand out on face value other then its trademark cast.
