Hello everyone! Thank you all for showing up and playing SCV at SCR! Bigups to all who participated in the tourney and to everyone who played in the tourney or casuals. Also MM tally? Who did what and who won?

anyways... only us as Soul Calibur tournament players can speak about our own community and its status. external circumstances should be dealt with acceptance and slow improvement towards a distinct goal. Whatever conflict between players should be resolved internally, through the means of combos and such, with plenty of "entertainment" in between.
 
SCR was awesome ^^ Glad to finally play with other players outside of NorCal. Only motivates me to get better. It was great meeting you all.

NorCal: thanks for dealing with my drunken ass Saturday night<3 You guys are the best...even if I kick you and tell you to stop playing this game because you suck at using Pyrrha.

Tomahawk: Dude, it was mad fun chilling with you. Your hospitality is second to none. Also, respect during the finals. You didn't beat Xeph but you really went for it and made sure he didn't get a free ride during this tourney. And during our match, that was real solid playing.

Beefylovelord: It was nice meeting you. I was also amazed at your hospitality. You and Tommy made my trip at Socal Regionals that much more enjoyable. Hopefully you two can come to NCR so we can return the favor.

Spman: You getting 4th was the joke that kept on giving. Your newfound swag was one of the most entertaining things to watch at SCR. It was also that much better because Signia didn't even make it out of pools haha.

Exitwounds: It was good to meet you, you are much nicer in person haha. I still think you got a long way to go but I could definitely see you doing some damage in the future if you keep at it.

Zane: That was some good repping of Zwei, good shit man. We need people like you in tourneys to keep everyone honest. I felt like I was the only one who knew the matchup lol. That Zwei vs Zwei was one of the hypest matches of the tourney. Thanks for making me 10 bucks.

Snort: Glad you could make it out, also good shit repping that Zwei. I still think if you switched to Viola you would of rocked Zane. That can't be a good matchup for Zwei.

Signia: Making fun of you is like a national past time for me. Although you were delusional for thinking you should of done better, it's good to see you talking more haha. Also leave commentating to Norcal hahahah.

IAdoreBunnies: Shake a dudes hand next time.

Kinetic Clash: You good people, it's fun giving you a hard time. It's funny when I can hit you with 4 CH 3a+b's a round and still not win it lol.

Xeph: It was real cool hanging out with you. It's stuff like that, that makes traveling to places like this worth it. I'll be sure to scrape your ass in VF also.

Mamba: Always good seeing you man. Next time don't be a scrub and lose to Zwei twice haha.

I probably should have switched. It was my gameplan to go as far as possible with ZWEI, bring in Viola if i lost a match, then go back to ZWEI and repeat. Unless i went up against a bad match up, in which case i'd start Raph then Viola. Unfortunately i got that tunnel vision and didnt take a moment to consider my options, which i should start doing. Just go back to character select and think for a bit. But thanks for the vote of confidence. Next time i'll hopefully go even further. I'm still glad, and a little surprised, i made it as far as i did.

Alex: My sister was in town during the weekend of SCR. I was in SoCal but for the purpose of showing her around, not to have her watch me play SC5. Would have been a waste anyway since I haven't touched the game in 4 months.

Glad you folks had fun, sounds like it was good times. I'm just disappointed that I can't go back and watch most of these matches. Were any MMs recorded? Or any matches with shit talking going on in the background?

(Funny thing about this, Kinetic did a runback with Viola mirrors. and on game 3, Kinetic Clash got him in a combo, that would've ended the entire match 3rounds to 0. However, someone decided not to desync their controller, and pressed the PSButton. Note, this was while Kinetic was in mid combo, and was about to kill. The press pause, start the match, but EXITWOUNDS refused to count that match, lmao!. So that's why it was 6wins to 1.)

Genver had some MM's, too. Don't know how he did, but from what I hear, his ass got bodied. Good job, NorCal rep.

EXITWOUNDS: You are a good player, your character is cheap as fuck, and you're in general a pretty cool cat. You know what I think, though. Those excuses were draining me. My advice, keep the nose up and think "cheap shit." Anyways, I'll get at you. Probably that podcast. GGs breh, if you keep at it, you'll do fine at FR.

I had a great time at SCR. Even though I got sick from all the infected people there, it was still worth it lol. I would also like to mention how great it feels to actually win a major tournament. Now I can see why Xeph does it ;P

Anyway, shoutouts:

Xeph: I'll start off with 1st place. No one doubted you would take this thing. I personally didn't put in enough work to feel confident enough to take you out. Maybe next time, haha. Congrats man. Lol, and thanks for clarifying how my money matches went down!

Tomahawk: That match was difficult to swallow. So difficult to swallow that I think I had to choke XP. But yeah, I definitely underestimated you. Congrats on 2nd.

Spman: Thanks for not aB spamming me. I think you only used it once or twice. I'm a scrub to that move, so thanks for not embarrassing me. GGs.

AlexJ: Idk what happened man, I thought you had me. But that's what happens when it's 2/3, it's anyone's game. Anyway, you're a lot funnier in person. Even when you're trash talking me, I can't help but laugh.

Exit: You're a good Viola. You just gotta get used to that offline tournament experience before you can expect to get very far. Keep coming to tournaments. And don't be afraid to use Viola's flashy stuff! If you can get her FC K combo consistently you will be unstoppable!! Thanks for showing me that RCC thing. I didn't believe it at first, but I can't argue with the results.

Rocktapus: Thanks for the Cervy experience before my big top 4 match. It definitely helped build my confidence!

Signia: GGs on those casuals

Manta: Sad to see you didn't make it to top 4, your Voldo is definitely good enough though. Those were some fun casuals. Ivy vs Voldo is a strange MU. Their hitboxes have never confused me more.

DrDogg: Sorry we didn't hang out much this tourney. Nothing like our fun times at Evo. Maybe we could do that again next Evo if I pick up DOA5. I'll drive this time lol.

PSAS players: As a group, you're really cool people. I really hope this scene takes off, I could see it going places. Even if it's half as popular as Smash is, I'd be happy. Also, maybe you'll root for the winning team next time (mine).

Jowuh: I think we're the first gay couple to win a major tourney ;D. Thanks for carrying the team!

Im finally at a computer soooooooo lets get this underway!!!

Everyone in general: Thank you all for showing up and getting hype for the game. I got hit with ScARS like everyone else this weekend. Hecka lame. Come on down to SoCal more often if you can so we can keep getting better at this game. I hope to see more of you at the events in the future and Sessions at Salmon's on Saturday will be continuing once in like a week or so. I am trying of figuring out if I can stream them from the house. Gonna be dope.

Xeph: Congrats on winning. You did what you needed to get and got the W. Good stuff. Now I gotta train up for the future and other tournies. Hopefully SoCal can stay active so that we have more strats and dirtiness to throw at you in the future for more Calibur. P.S. Dude, that pressure! XD

Alex J: BEAST!!! But on the real though great games sir. We gotta session in Calibur and Tag2.

Zane/ZWEI BEAST: Good seeing you man. Great repping the character that gets little love and beasting on folks at the tourney. Kinda glad I didnt have to meet you in tourney cause it may have been bad. (Bullet dodged!)

Calibur Addict: Wait your name was actually I ADORE BUNNIES!!!! Thanks for showing up though and making it out of pools!
Charbon: I believe folks were referencing you for the Lexia play in this thread. I've seen you at a few other events and each one you are getting more solid. I thought you were gonna put Clash in losers for the first round. Very solid. Also sucks that you missed your pool in VF. I was talking to the man running it and trying to find you but we couldnt find ya.

Chemie: Norcal is evil and Engineers are Awesome... That is all! J/K! Thanks for showing up and you are also real solid in calibur. GG's... though I didnt get to play you...

Overall: SCR was dope. First time running a tourney from begining to the end and it was really fun. Only complaint would be sickness and my voice leaving. That was kinda garbage. Also watching the SPman terror spree at SCR was great. He had too much swag!!! LOL! Hopefully we can get more games in the future and build the scene from were we are and show more folks how much fun we have playing and then getting more new folks to show up and play. There was a good amount of new blood and a couple of them making it out of pools and being more solid as they mature in the game. That was great to see. Lets keep it running yall. Also I hope to get more sessions with the newer SoCal dudes and maybe getting more grudgematches going on. The Signia v. Alex J thing is turning out to be epic. And on another note if anyone wants to play more or ask for pointers, tips, etc., let me know and we can session.
