Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

IDK, some games when they are kept alive for so much time in the end get some special vibe and you get attached to them and is sad when they cease. And I haven't played it in almost 2 years XD but you know, someway I like to see the company still backs the game.

If they end releasing things for this game it would be nice to hace a DOA5 "definitive" versión, and by "definitive" I mean actually definitive, with ALL the content on the same disc and no more new aditional content...ever.

Here is the problem with that business strategy. If there are still people around to buy the "Definitive" version, then there are still people around who will buy additional DLC as it becomes available. So as the merchant, you're essentially leaving free money on the table.

Ergo, it makes no business sense to ever release a definitive version when you can continually pump out additional content at low development cost. It does, however, make sense to release packaged iterations of an existing product with some of that content bundled... and thats exctly what they've been doing.

Anyhow, I'm just glad DOA 5 has gotten this much support throughout its life. Itagaki honestly couldn't have cared less for the tournament scene, so the situation would probably be far different by now if he was still around. We wouldn't have gotten bombarded by so much bikini DLC and female fanservice, but the flip side is... we probably would be missing around 7-8 characters and a bunch of stages.

Hard to complain, when you weigh out the possibilities.

As for why we keep getting packaged iterations I believe it has to do with console DLC limitations on the market place. They hit the limit for the 360 and PS3 versions a long time ago, and there are so few slots available on Steam that everything has to be sold in bundles. When you release a new game, however, the list is wiped clean and you can start over... or something to that affect.

Gameplay for Naotora has surfaced online. First is her combo video.

Next is a couple matches with her on DOA5 Ultimate Arcade (AKA Last Round).

Yea, this feels like a Samurai Warriors character alright...

I'm only hyped for the return of Azuchi stage from DOA3!! About Naotora... she's cute, but I'm not interested. I expected that the "new" character to be a male character like Victor Donovan or Genra but... Anyway I'll be waiting for the update on 17 March! :)

Also worth mentioning: Shiorojika, a Gen-Fu player, won the first ever Japan eSport Championship for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round by beating A1R GEAR. In addition to this, the DOA Festival has been announced.

What button mapping do you use to going from SC5 to DOA5? I tried to have the punch kick guard map to square triangle X, like how SC5 does it, but it feels really awkward compare to the default mapping in DOA5, no matter how I change my button mapping, it just doesn't feel natural.

How much longer do you guys think it'll be until the announcement of DOA6? They're working on it for sure, they stated way back in 2014 that DOA6 would take full advantage of the PS4/Xbox One. Combine this with the fact that they released the final DLC. Between this in SCVI, I'm in need of my favorite fighters to return to the spotlight.

Probably not anytime soon. They just released DOAX3, and I'm pretty sure Tecmo is gonna want them working on DLC for that game to milk it for all its worth.

Boy I sure am glad they're wasting time and resources on a shovelware game we can't even play. Oh and another action-adventure game that will inevitably flop too.
