Shit, I loved to parry people into walls in SCIV.

Honestly JG should have been the thing costing meter, with a larger window. That way you're punishing ends of stupid block strings easier and it's a more wtf moment for the audience. Also easier for scrubs like me.

GI should've stayed meterless with its smaller window, to allow for those back and forth GI contests. Those were really fun! Meter put a limit on how far you could take them. Also Guard Impact is synonymous with Soul Calibur... Not Just Guard. And in SCV I rarely ever used normal GI... Always fishing for JG.

In fact, Xiba's REM aGI is one of the main reasons I played as him (four years ago).

I mean, I really want proper GI back. I relied on it a lot in all the previous SC games, especially SCII and SCIV, but in SCV, I'm too shit of a player to pull off JG, and I don't use GI, since the half of the meter is better used for BE.

I didn't like those GI moments at all. I want the game to keep moving and the constant GI, at least to me, wastes precious seconds and drags out the match. They were more of a nuisance.

I'd argue that SCV matches seem to go quicker than SCIV ones, but it's kinda moot even if I'm wrong. Really it's a case of "SCIV had it already, go play that game", which is fair.

With all of the new features the developers added after SC3 (soul gauge, meter, guard burst), matches took less time to finish. You can't block forever anymore and characters can get a critical finish in IV or spend meter to inflict extra damage in V. I actually didn't like the annoying GI wars in the older caliburs, but I also agree SCV GI costs too much meter.

I agree with RTOwn that JG should have a large window and require meter (maybe 25%). Players would then have to make wise decisions on which moves to JG and retaliate (also more fair for telegraphed moves). GI doesn't have to go away but perhaps we should just have a 4G parry option (the one where the opponent is thrown to the ground) with a narrow window that allows a player to retreat. JG for quick openings to attack and GI for escape.

Don't forget about your character's auto-GIs either. they can be incredibly helpful and don't cost meter. i still prefer the metered GI more though and saving it for BE is not necessarily better if your BEs suck. i's been well over a year and a half since i played SC5 though, so i can't really name any examples off the top of my head atm

Well, That thing about BE is true. There are characters like aPat or Sieg, that have very useful BEs, but there are characters like Leixia or Natsu that have shitty BEs in my opinion, most of the time because they're slow and easy for your opponent to see and react to. ...IN MY OPINION, because there's gonna be someone that'll tell me what I'm saying is bollocks again.

For Leixia, AA[BE] is good for stun combos & wall combos. If you're lucky if the opponent's guard gauge is really low and do CH AA[BE] with the 5th hit blocked to lead into 44[A] combos. WS B[BE] evades verticals. Also evading throws count with WS B[BE] as verticals. CE is useful as a i12 punishes, interrupts, and oki setups with 3B at max range for guard pressure except for Leixia(WD A+B), Maxi, Mitsu, Cervy, Nightmare, & A. Pat.

"Mimics" or as I call them "Random style characters" - I know you people don't like them, and tbh, I only ever liked Elysium and Edge Master. (inferno in SCI - cool to be selectable, but boring, Edge master was better, Charade in SCII - Boooriiing, Olcadan in SCIII - Boooriiing, and Kilik in SCV? It would've been better if they gave him his true style and trash Xiba, imo). I think one mimic character in SCVI would be fine, but that only when I assume that it'll have a bigger roster than SCV ( I know, I know.... Programming, balance, movesets, time, money, everything...., but I do hope....). And the only acceptable option for me would be Edge Master. Ofcourse I'd LOVE Elysium back, but that's impossible. (and I must be the only fan of Elysium on this effing planet)

I thought SCV's mimics were O.K., not great but just O.K. This is especially helpful if you are a player who just happens to play mostly male or female characters. It's just that in SCV (and for any fighting game for the matter), you would normally have one mimic-type character and then a ton of normal characters. My take on this is that since we had three mimics, the number of normal characters should have at least have an appropriate ratio to the mimics.

So in a word, because we had more mimics than expected, we should have had more normal characters. I'm indifferent to the idea of mimics, but if they have Edge Master, Kilik, and Elysium (or anyone similar) in SCVI, Bamco should provide more normal characters to balance the normal-to-mimic ratio.

Oh for god's sake.... They have to be joking......

ANYWAY, another thing regarding GI, I think that if they keep the meter in SCVI, either make GI cost less of the meter, OR make it deal some damage, if it costs half the fucking meter.

If it continues like this it's more possible that someone will hack SCV and make it into a new game than PS actually releasing SCVI
