You know people here go on about balance like it's the best thing and SCV was exceptionally balanced. However I don't really believe the balance was what made SC games great, for me the balance in that game just made the winning and losing mundane compared to the old games. Say what you want about that and I know most here will go on about the competitive aspect which is something I have no real intention of ever getting into at this point and try to invalidate my old style of play with the obvious competitive blather like online, that would never work, so and so high tier beats so and so low tier etc...

You know what? I don't care. I adapt to the game hand that's all. If it seems like it can't be done it only makes me try harder to find a way to do it... Unless it's :sc1ast1: :2: :1: :4: :A: which is indeed impossible but should of course ring out... Though that is more of a (completely serious) nitpick compared to some of the other things they did to SCV like the gutting of the movelists, the GI system as well as changing (one might say ruining) the properties of many moves in the name of this balance. Of course some moves they actually improved and the gutting of the movelist could be argued to be trimming the fat but you'll never hear me argue in favour of what passes for GI in SCV.

Too bad we'll probably never have a chance to find out which way is best but if we go by the past I might say a lot more people would prefer the old SC games in favour of stodgy balance needs. Just sounds like crying to me if I'm honest. Kappa

Cutting movelists was a good decision since they mainly cut irrelevant moves, but kept the main gameplay of characters. Which also helps to attract new players who didn't give 3d games a try so far due to needlessly large movelists with 70% of moves being relatively useless.

If you think the modding community is dead then why do you think Project Soul should even bother? Just so an already dead scene has a few extra tools?

Honestly if you think no one is interested in Soul Calibur 6 then there wouldn't be 192 pages in a thread called Soul Calibur 6 discussion.

^Technically it's 19200 pages, if you count the people that want SC6 but doesn't know about 8WR or don't speak English.

IDK if anyone thought about this..........But for a possible SCVI mode, I'd want a Creative Arcade Mode, where you can have a character fight the opponents you choose for that character to fight, I have many ideas for certain characters to fight who.

I'll put in my two cents, as my experience with the series past sc2 is pretty limited.

If they come out with another instalment, I'd like to see the old GI system reinstated. I'm not a fan of 'dumbing' down the movelist either, as many of the moves the devs deemed 'useless' were things I liked finding a way to fit into my game. The complex characters were always what I gravitated towards, or a playstyle that wasn't considered as 'tourney viable' on characters like Mitsu for example. Let the player base decide on how to trim the fat, not force it on them. There will always be players who gravitate towards characters with abuse-able moves, and that's fine. But some of us really find immense replay-value in those that require imagination.

By the looks of it, it's a celebrate Hilde's birthday, which was on August 13th. Its just a nice gesture to the fans. You're reading too much into it if you believe this is somehow implying a SC6 reveal.
Of course no . What I liked was the way Namco responded this. Yes it doesn't mean SC6 but at least they still care about franchise still better than nothing imo.

I posted that here because that was a recent thing and wasn't worth to start a new thread so I thought this thread would be most appropriate one to post. Just wanted you to see they're still kind of active not that I think it implies anything chill.

I wish this actually meant something, but we all know how many times we've been burned before...
Well look at the bright side, it shows that Soulcalibur still holds a special place in Namco (and plenty of us here as well).
