Soul Calibur 6 Discussion

Natsu is...fuck natsu. I honestly think Taki looks amazing, just not amazing enough for me to be broke for another 6 months. Still reeling back from the NM statue

Is anyone else worried Namco shut down Project Soul without telling anyone? My reason for why I believed a new SC was coming was because surely PS isn't getting paid to sit on their asses and do nothing. But what if they're no longer around? The complete absence of updates on both SC's Facebook and Twitter, their website being the exact same since last year, and the fact that the Soulcalibur website now redirects to Bandai-Namco has gotten me worried.

I don't understand it. They make one bad game and they call it quits? With new hardware coming up, the absence of weapon-based fighters (since For Honor bombed), and the lack of 3D fighters on the market in general, plus the established die-hard fanbase, it would be a perfect time to reintroduce the series. At this point, they might as well sell the property and team to another company. I'm sure just about anyone else would do something with it.

Members from Project Soul were working with Harada on Pokken Tournament, you can easily search the game up yourself and see. I don't think they've been quietly shut down, it seems that they've been busy working on other projects.

Nyte, please.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Stop embarrassing yourself.
No, I actually do, you asshat. I looked up the members of PS on Facebook and found no mention of PS and in fact found that creator Hiroaki Yotoriyama is no longer on PS. With Harada no longer on the team, Yotoriyama gone, Hoshino having no voice (if he's still on board), no mention of SC, the Soulcalibur website redirecting to Bandai-Namco, both Facebook and Twitter being silent for nearly 9 months, my concerns were perfectly valid.

Well, Pokken came out nearly two years ago on console and the only thing recent is the updated remaster on Switch. I don't think this "soft confirms" no SCVI in the near future like the above user said, because nothing has come about. They're not "busy" on other projects unless something unannounced is in the works. But if they are, isn't it a little ridiculous they're working on things besides SC, the game they were established to make? But my reasons are enough to suspect they've been quietly shut down.

SCV was NOT a bad fighting game

I do not like repeating myself.

It was a bad SC game and you know it.
No it was not and you should better know that...

You might be too personal about this, cause Natsu replaced Taki.

But apart from missing characters, stupid just gaurd being better/more usable than GI and a lame story mode, the game was at least decent.
Good balancing for a SC-game, ok graphics, very good soundtrack, really good Online-Mode/netcode and in generell a successful implementation of the typical 2D fighting game meter-mechanic.

SCV was the best "fighting game" in the series (best mechanics, best online), but worst "game" in the series (lack of content, character replacements). Most people buy fighting games as just "games" and that's why it failed.
