Character loyalty I bet. The same can be said for others like Raphael and Rock considering that even these two are pretty obsolete when compared to Amy and Astaroth from a gameplay standpoint.

EDIT: I didn't intend to add on like it was a bad thing to use a low tier character(as people have shown that they can be useful in some areas). You're free to use whoever you wish, and nobody is going to stop you from maining them if you choose to put a good amount of effort into using them well. Most importantly, just have fun with them and the game itself for that matter.

Mina has been good in some iterations of the game. You can't eliminate a character simply due to tierage based on a brand new game.

That said, she played a lot different than Kilik in SCIV. She was a more a hyper annoying poke and retreat character.
 
Rods are very common in fighting games. I'm sure they can have both Mi-Na & Killik in one game and have them play drastically different. Just like Sophitia and Cassandra or Siegfried and Nightmare.
 
Hey did you guys hear about Soul Calibur VI supposedly being leaked on NeoGAF? The "leak" is just some guy saying he knows someone in the industry who told him though, and we heard the same thing before E3 in June so I'm not convinced.

I know, I have hopes, but I'm not going to get excited until a real confirmation.
 
I have no hopes myself. I would like to see something, but I'm so dead to anything with this series at this point I'm not expecting much. I mostly just lurk here watching silently, waiting to see if something happens. I should try revisiting the series at some point...
