Exactly. To quote TVTropes...

High Fantasy: By later games, the series may have made a Genre Shift into this territory despite ostensibly taking place in our world. While real world figures are referenced, and the lands are real, you have so many different fantastical aspects that it might as well be a Constructed World. The roster includes a golem, a lizardman, a Greek woman granted power and weapons by the ancient Pantheon, a demon-hunting ninja with mystical powers, a Ghost Pirate, two vampires, a Scary Black Man who happens to be immortal, an Deity of Human Origin who rules an Eldritch Location, a sexy Femme Fatale alchemist, another ninja with mystical powers (who's also a Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot), a teenage priestess who can control the wind, and the setting revolves around two magical swords that drive the plot. That's still not naming everything. And when you're not just looking at the roster itself, Schizo Tech is involved like Yoshimitsu's mechanical arm, various Steampunk-flavored stages, and costumes not being period appropriate in the slightest.

And there's also a Frenchman who can speak proper English with a nice accent, talk about unrealistic things! XD
 
i might be a little late for noting this but...

ASTAROTH CONFIRMED

note that these are all rivals... AND WHO WOULD BE MAXI'S RIVAL HUH?

this pretty much deconfirms setsuka too since taki is already on mitsu's rival slot but this also leaves a question...
who would be the last 2 rivals? on the row?
 
How is Ivy and Xianghua a rivalry ? I don't want to look too deep into it.

I always thought the more straight forward characters + main story protagonist and antagonist + guest character get center placement.
The more niche, difficult, and wacky characters fill the outside.

More left is more Soul Calibur and more right is more Soul Edge. I also feel like the sides are going to have vertical rivalries instead of horizontal rivalries, so Cervantes will be two spots below Ivy, and two spots below Xianghua could be either Talim or Cassandra, who are good characters, but pursue a rather different path than Xianghua does. Xianghua is just really hard to pin a rival for in general, though, aside from her romance with Kilik.

This was something new introduced in the reboot just like Maxi Vs. Mitsurugi or Kilik vs Groh
  • In the old timeline Ivy only meets Voldo and Seung Mi-Na
Ivy possesses the evil aura of Soul Edge due to the blood of Cervantes / Xianghua possesses Krita-Yuga(Soul Calibur) that was given by his mother. So both have their destinies affected due to the connection of their parents with the swords

By that logic it also deconfirms Cervantes, despite the fact we've already seen him in the story trailer.

Things from what people are saying they are trying to remove clones, place character's beyond sc2 as dlc and have characters more involved with the story. So from that I know Astaroth, Cervantes and talim are in. Raphael and tira is involved in big way so they must be in. I can see setsuka, hilda, rock, seong mi-na and the rest as dlc. Voldo might be launch character because it's voldo very unique. Anyways end of the day they'll still be in. Regarding the clones I still say they shouldve gone the injustice way and have them as skins it'll free up slots.

Who would rage more if their character was not in the game?

Cervantes players or Raphael players?

I think Cervantes, but I could be wrong. I can't count how many times I fought Cervantes in SC4 online.

Before anyone says it they would argue Talim players.

To answer your question though I'd say Cervantes players.

FYI: Talim is one of my favorites.

Doubt it. If any of the Clones make it its probably Cas/Amy since they evolved way more than mina or rock, and actually feel like different characters.
