Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I know, I asked like four pages back if there was a picture going along with the poll since the options are numbered like in the last one, but everyone was too busy whining about Tira or some shit. Where did the poll even come from if not from a tweet with a picture?
I'm not entirely sure. I've just done some digging, and I can't seem to find the Tweet on any of the channels, only the first one about picking a race, and the second one about Lizardman winning that poll and picking a style for him to use. There's a reddit thread about the Azwel weapons poll too, but it also doesn't source a Tweet. I suppose it would be technically possible that someone made it up, but then, with the recent history of Tweets being deleted, it may have accidentally been deleted when they were trying to delete the open beta Tweet and they didn't notice? I'm not entirely sure. I do know that I haven't personally seen any pictures or footage of Azwel's weapons, not even Motion & Stillness, which was available in Libra of Soul.

Your ignorance on project managing is scary, if you honestly think this game was not made with individual budgets you simply do not understand how these things work.

Calling someone a "sweet summer child" in the same post where you think they lied about a character not being ready because 3 weeks before said character hits she will be playable is some deep lack self-awareness.
Educate me then.
Cause I thought the budget of something was generally set at project start and development then has several deadlines it meets. Im sure SOME of that includes post launch content. You arent seriously saying they haven even conceptualized the DLC roster? Really.

I believe a while back someone (probably Dante) said there were colors assigned to Azwel's weapons or something like that. My concern is if this is the case, PS has done this because they are in fact exact replicas of each other that we are unable to color edit. So this would be why PS is attempting to offer a diverse selection of color options but are all probably still opposites that might look awful for whatever color scheme we try to design in CAS.

Not me, that was @Fatal_Exodus, though I did respond, but that's not what he said either, it was just commenting on the icon:

The icon used for Motion & Stillness is a yellow and green spiral (think 7UP). I really hope they aren't just generic recolors of his standard weapons because I'm not too sure some of those would look too visually appealing. And it's pretty lazy.
I mean, that's what Algol's extra weapons are, though it only recolors his aura, and not the swords themselves, so it wouldn't necessarily be a new occurrence. But I don't think the yellow and green means anything, either, since the level 4 weapon that Hayate unlocked for Geralt had the same icon as the level 1 weapon for Geralt, so it's likely that all of Azwel weapons have the yellow and green. Why they are yellow and green, though, instead of blue and red, that's the real mystery.

Edit: Actually, though, I had a few things fuzzy going on in my head, the icons for all the weapons are grey in Libra of Soul, including Azwel's. The yellow and green weapon would actually be Motion & Stillness, as in, the actual weapon shown here, during the initial weapon selection process of Libra of Soul. It looks rather generic, so it actually is quite possible that all of Azwel's weapons may be nothing more than color swaps, which would indeed be quite disappointing.

tell that to tekken 7

and DBFZ...

and SFV...

and... you get my point

Thank you! It's driving me crazy that people are acting like this is the first game to ever do something like this.

At least now u can try her and decide if u wanna buy her or not

This is actually a solid point. Not very often do you get to try dlc before you buy, although again I doubt few people will see it this way.

You're thinking of budget lato sensu.
When a you have a project everything has it's own budget, lets take SoulCalibur for example:

-They need to hire designers- They have a budget for that
-They need to hire modelers- They have a budget for that
-They need to hire voice actors- They have a budget for that

Each and all levels have it's own spending limit, so they don't burn everything in a single area, DLC is outside that, the content solds as DLC have it's own expectation of profit and it has it's own selling costs, so it is not in the same budget as the same project.

No game is perfect
Especially without Cassandra..

Still great tho.

Insightful but, Id think the selection and conceptualization of DLC character would HAVE to be done during the main games production. Leaks have actually proven this. Look at SFV and its DLC leaks.

If there are 7 single color choices, i suppose that would probably end up being ok as they would most likely cover the basics.

Since however the default is red/blue, i assume everything else comes in opposite pairs. (green/yellow, orange/teal, black/white, pink/purple, ... i cant think of anything else)

What my real point behind all of this was that any CAS or Azwel edit someone tries to make will probably have to match their outfit color schemes in the same manner, meaning pairs. Otherwise it will probably look silly.

This is the case with nearly every single DLC out there, only a handful of games have never done this (like the Artorias of the Abyss DLC expansion for example which took a year to create because it was never planned). Look I really don't agree with day 1 DLC or the fact that DLC is for the most part developed side by side of it's main game but the budget of the extra content is seperate to the main game regrdless if it gets completed before the game releases. I hate the fact SC6 is expensive for it's full content and more the fact that it's content is fragmented but it's quite clear that projected sales by Bandai Namco are going to be on the lower end of the spectrum and considering businesses are businesses it's important that they turn a profit especially their projected profit. It fucking sucks that fans of a series have to eat the overhead costs just to keep the damn thing alive but there's not much we can do but hope SC6 sells extremely well for Bandai Namco to have more faith in the series to give future games a bigger budget.

If Azwel's weapons are not actually different in form and are just recolors of base one, then I'd prefer if we had only one weapon set for Azwel and just were able to recolor it however we want.

Yeah, i never expected they would actually design different looking weapons for him because he has a lot and they are big, meaning that would be a lot of work. As you said though, i was hoping for freedom in color editing.

So guys, I was actually wrong. Even though I swear I read that armor break gives a bit extra damage, the instructions say otherwise. So it's there just because, apparently.
