Seong Mi-na General Info/Discussion

I was playing against some Minas and she seems pretty strong.What's your opinion guys?

Against players who lack a good understanding of footsies, general spacing or just like to bull-rush, she's a killer. Against more patient players and those with solid fundamentals, she can struggle a little. She's a great character with easy-to-use long range moves and great tippers (that actually work really well here) and can be played pretty safely and aggressively if you need to put pressure on your opponent. One look at her frames may make you think otherwise, but much like Siegfried, she works better in practice than in theory.

She's not the best, however. As some players mention, she struggles in speed and some find that she lacks good, useful moves to push out enemies on top of her. Some characters can really wreck her (Sophitia, Cervantes, Voldo and Xianghua all spring to mind). I find that she's really good for beginner players, especially those that want to learn more spacing fundamentals and how to control and pace a fight. But some beginners may find her Soul Charge options a bit lacking or too nuanced to get a solid grip on. Advanced players will find her ability to smash guards to be an excellent secondary strategy for successful play.

Does anyone have her patch changes?

JMP A & 6A+B are safer. 44B+K now has scaling with a small damage increase. Mi-na is fine.

I tested the throws' frame. Here is my result:

For A+G, there are 17 breaking frames from 2nd to 18th frames after the impact. Throw break advantage is 0.
For 4A+G, there are 18 breaking frames from 2nd to 19th frames after the impact. Throw break advantage is 0.
For 46A+G, there are 12 breaking frames from 2nd to 13th frames after the impact. Throw break advantage is +8 on attacker.

For the Attack Throw of 1A, there are 14 breaking frames from 7th to 20th frame after the impact. (8th to 21st frame for 1[A]'s AT)
If opponent breaks the AT at 7th frame, he will get -9 disadvantage.
If opponent breaks the AT at 20th frame, he will get = +4 advantage.
If opponent mashes the button from the beginning, he will get the earliest breaking frame mostly.

Opponent's frame advantage on breaking AT:
21st = Can't break
20th = +4
19th = +3
18th = +2
17th = +1
16th = 0
15th = -1
14th = -2
13th = -3
12th = -4
11th = -5
10th = -6
9th = -7
8th = -8
7th = -9
6th = Can't break

Out of curiosity SilentWall, how did you test all of that? Is there some special third party software or something?

I tested them in PC with a video player and recorder. It is not hard to do if you know the way.
Here is the instruction in the end of the post:

For finding Mina's AT frame, it is complicated because I have to find several data to prove the formula. For regular throw, I just need to record the earliest and latest frame in training mode and then count the frame in video player.

I use these freewares:
Recorder - Bandicam trial verison. XD
Video editor - Shotcut
Someone told me that they are not good. You can find a better one out there for free.

Yea, it is not a rocket science. Everyone can do that.

Question - Do you guys have a top ten move list for Mina somewhere? Thank you.
I don't have anyone else's on hand, but off the top of my head it's something like (in no particular order)

2A
6A
66A
44A
1B
22B
2A+B
3KK
FC 1KK
WR K

66A should maybe be 5K, A+B, 11A, or 66B, but I like 66A too much lol. Swap 3KK for 3b:K if you're greedy.

Hey, guys. As usual, I share my discovery to you. This time it is a secret move 2B:K. Surprise! I'm not going to explain what it is. =)
Please give me some "likes" to see how you guys like it. Thank you.
