Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

In slight defense of DOA, I can at least say that the costumes actually look good on the characters.

While I’m not defending the DLC practices of Team Ninja (seriously, there is no way I’m paying over $90 for the season pass), I can say I like how the alternate costumes look more than any of the Bamco games since Tekken 6. I find it rather vexing trying to make an outfit I like only to look at the finished product and think “that doesn’t look like it’s even touching their skin” before giving up and just recoloring their base outfit.

I am at least happy having those bunny ear pieces. I can't wait to put them on my favs like with Groh; with Voldo's outfit.

sis... you might have just did sumn 👀

this. This. THIS.

people love to drag team ninja for their dlc especially when comparing it to soulcalibur’s cas but i dont think they fully understand how it works for DOA. They don’t just create a costume for you to put on all characters. They create individual outfits based on set themes, personalised to each character with an extremely high attention to detail - each character gets a unique outfit in each collection and they ALL look good from a technical point of view. They basically release tons of alternate character costumes, as opposed to what Soulcalibur 6 has done in giving us lots of drab, boring, sometimes ugly cas items with the rare exception that actually looks good but you find it hard to mix and match with many other pieces.

This is why I keep saying I do not care that they are opting to give us legacy costumes, I LIKE legacy costumes, it’s the fact that they aren’t giving us the good ones with actual detail in them!

Yeah DOA outfits are great... but the gameplay still struggles to compete with Namco fighters
Not to mention the animations are god tier in comparison.

I don’t play as Astaroth or Nightmare but I worship how good they look when they completely shit on someone.

I’ve come to terms with CAS not being as complete as it should be but I’m grateful the game exists (and relieved CAS isn’t over shadowing the defaults either).

CAS pieces shouldn’t be so much a complaint like it has been on here.
more characters and stages is what the game really needs.
I’d prefer if they didn’t give us set B and added 2/3 new stages instead.

I would say there's a chance the next DLC character will be announced at Combo Breaker this weekend, but Namco isn't a sponsor for the event and I don't think they've ever announced anything at the show, so that's probably not happening. Edit: I'm bad at reading, they are sponsoring the event. So maybe potentially hopefully kinda there is a chance?

I wonder why they're taking so long to announce the last character.

Maybe it takes time to modelize her butt ..

It would be the best event to announce it at with the large crowd of fighting game people in attendance, including Soulcalibur itself having a lot of the community present. But there are a few things going against it.
1. They've never announced something without Okubo present. So pray for a surprise trip.
2. SF5's top 8, which is a Capcom major, is run at the same time. So Soulcalibur top 8 might not have a prime setup to show off a trailer.

I wonder why they're taking so long to announce the last character.
Still hasn't reached the same gap between 2B's release and Amy's announcement. So nothing out of the ordinary yet. Although we will pass that point this weekend.

I think the times shown here are GMT - 5.

Come for the high-level SC6 gameplay! Stay for the soul-crushing realization that there will be no DLC character announcement!

I honestly wasn't expecting an announcement, I think E3 will be the right time to announce both the last character and season 2 content, then hopefull like this CaS update, get the last fighter shortly after the announcement.

My personal bet is EVO for season pass 2, and Cassandra will be announced whenever the PR team at Namco remembers to upload the Cass trailer. Maybe the Playstation blog will reveal the release date of Cassandra which will make Namco go all "Oh, whoops, I forgot to click the publish button when uploading the Cass trailer two months ago!"

Perhaps, it boils down to Namco's PR team release schedule as you said. I just hope we get Cassandra by the time E3 rolls by like we got Amy a month after the first CaS DLC pack.

Enlighten me on something guys, why is DOA not in here like it seems like DOA is missing out on a lot of tournaments.
