Sometimes it's justified. Some things are broken and ruin the game like assist gems in SFxT or DHC glitch and phoenix in vanilla marvel, or even skullgirls in it's current state. If we know a better version is on the way, then why bother? I don't feel like SCV is in that situation though.

If they can't win they think it because they need buffs or everything else needs to get nerfs.

Or maybe people don't want to play around glitches and overpowered characters. You can't blame a Ralph player not wanting to deal with match ups that are completely not in their favor.

If you're good with a character you enjoy playing with you shouldn't have to switch to one you don't because of balance issues. Thats silly.

You don't have to unless you want to win a large tournament. Even still, we've seen raphs and zweis break top 8 on a few occasions. The character balance in this game isn't perfect but it's well above average compared to fighting games as a whole.
