To me complaining is just as bad for the site as using divisive language that pits enthusiasts against each other. But I agree with your overall point.

People complain because they think someone is listening. If it's so much of a problem suggest the creation of a rant board where people can voice their dislikes about the game and its perceived issues, but not each other. If not this, then just respond to them. Complaining is just a grab for attention, I should know, I do it a lot.
