its cuz most people are ignorant of the characters abilities. same shit happened to Tira till she won EVO. its what hurts our community, i respect Aries saying that you should never call out a character as being shitty cuz you never know when some player will just prove you wrong. Personally i think raph is solid but not everyone is meant to play him to the best ability imo I know I can't. I think you "must" have a good neutral game and good spacing to play raph effectively. Sure raph is weak to step but with proper spacing its hard to take advantage of that weakness...atleasts raph has good guesses such as 4(B) for TC and 22_88 B for sidestepping verticals.

It's the same with zwei people underestimate him but dunno that he kills you if he guesses right and he has one of the best guard crush games. But people are just not willing to take a chance with these chars.

yea i agree.the more i look at the EVO vids the more it is evident that people still have a lot to learn about the characters in this game. unfortunately the community are too stubborn to see the advantages of underused characters like Raphs ridiculous ability to punish whiffs

Totally agree with what you guys are saying.

What's worse is that some people just feed their ignorance by calling him cheap and overpowered. I.E. There was a guy who was making soul calibur videos w/ commentary and lost a match when Raph's Prep BB realigned after the 3B whiff and hit him. He moaned,"How can he hit while Im side-stepping? That's why he's soo cheap!!" WTF.

What annoys me people are like he does no damage but if takes the same risks as his opponents he can get paid in damage. land 4b and 33kBE lead to amazing damage also he CE can punish alot of things. though personally i gotta use all of these moves more often

People who are scrubs will always complain at any char in the game not just raph just funny some of the stuff they say lol 236 B greatest whiff punisher everrrrr :p

The impact tiers have on fighting game communities is just ridiculous. people need to stop seeing these games as characters vs characters and focus on the player aspect of it. Every character has different strenghts and weaknesses, it's up to the players to capitalise on them and get the win. Everyone is viable, at least on sc5.

Well if the game dosnt die ill try to make it to more majors. Our problem is we have a small community that blindly parrot what others say without trying it for themselves. Also a quick note on tiers; they do exist but depending on the game's balance they may not have as huge of an effect in a match

Youngfox, is there any chance that you'll go to Final Round? apparently it's the biggest major after EVO. Would be nice to have a Raph there.
