And Jimbo, any real aeon player would say that Aeon is NOT solid. He is a rushed character that lacks ANY threatening lows, all he has is decent ring out game which has a 50/50 chance of failing FOR NO REASON. He is missing his crawl stance and his flight stance is terrible.
jimbo: i have listened to the soulcast. the problem is i am not a poke player. i find it boring and aggravating whether doing it or playing against that style, and seems to me that is what that soulcast endorsed doing with aeon. if thats the only way to make him good then i guess i wont ever be good with him. just not that type of player.
It is even said in the cast itself that his lows are subpar. That's why people like Reptile cater to a throw heavy game with Aeon given his throw range and his fantastic command throw. He makes you want to duck or else eat the potential throw damage. Aeon has an outstanding ring out game.
He can brawl up close but his strengths lie in killing movement and whiff punishing given his top tier backstep. Flight stance is used for damage purposes, not for mix ups and crap. Come on now.
i think the reason that aeon bothers me is that he has no FLOW. my main is astaroth and i can easily flow from one string into another, whereas aeon seems very start and stop (poke) in general.
i feel like aeon requires even more 50/50 guesses to get his big dmg than astaroth. at least when im playing asta even if my 50/50 shiz doesnt work out he has enough going for him that i still feel comfortable and like i have a decent chance at winning.
Many correct points were made here. I personaly believe Aeon to be rushed due to his many axis and whiffing issues, lack of Crawl and Swag Winger's only purpose adding damage to succesful hits, but that's beside the point. Much of what Jimbo said is correct. He essentialy has 2 games: The first is his spacing. Aeon has phenomenal backstep, very fast forward run speed, and the nly spacing tool he needs, 66A.
