Cuz reads aren't guesses. And you can't read something that doesn't involve thought. My point was that, sometimes during 50/50s, taking the thought out of your decision gives you a better chance of success.

Like if you're standing up and have to guess between blocking powerful highs and lows (say, you're fighting Maxi or Mitsurugi), if you're able to work out from the player's tendencies and their pattern of behaviour how to block effectively the majority of the time, that would be having a good read on someone.
