Why couldn't it just be a global release?

the obvious answer is to play DS1

I did that a lot for the past few weeks...
I made a Faith character who uses a club, and gained dark magic in the end due to Tin Crystalization Catalyst inspiration...
I made my one and only shield character who was boring...
I made a Halberd character who turned out to be impressively overpowered...
I made a pure mage/pyromancer who I got bored with in Demon's Ruins...
