That is a tough choice since there are a lot of good characters in the game. A few characters I really like are Kellam, Frederick, Lon`qu, Cherche, Gregor, Ricken, Gaius, Cordelia, Sumia, and Henry. There are a lot of good characters in the game, so it is really hard to pick a favourite, but I guess they would be like my top ones. Lol sry for picking so many XD

Don't worry. There's nothing wrong with liking so many characters! Did you bother beating Lunatic +? I definitely didn't, because it requires too much resetting. :(

Nope :3 This is my first Fire Emblem game so I took the easy route for my first playthrough. At the moment I am trying to do a normal playthrough, but I keep accidentally getting some people killed by mistake and resetting (like not noticing archers nearby when I have flying units). Every death = a reset :< I cannot bear to lose anybody.
Dumb noob question. What is a good attack to use up close with Astaroth if an opponent won't back off?

Backstep can be useful too IIRC.
Now, I'm terrible with Astaroth, but I gravitate towards 3KA_(A) myself.
Anyone got tips for improving connection from PS3 to Wireless Router? I seem to keep losing connection to opponents... :< makes me sad.

Setup a static ip and portforward, maybe?
Is the AI ok to practice against, or would playing online be the better option? My connection sucks so I am not sure...

i go over all the moves again to see if i'm missing anything useful and practice JFs (if any) or tough combos. my main thing nowadays is to work on my match-ups.

You can learn your characters move set and then begin working on punishes. You pick a character that you want to learn to play against and figure out what moves you have can punish particular moves they throw out.

    Practice iCS.
Not just in practice, but in anything.
    Player.
    Offline.
    Arcade.
    On the way to work.
    While you're having breakfast.
    On the bus.
In the middle of a hot date.
In the middle of a bad date.
    In the shower.
    With the kids.
    In your sleep.
    IN YOUR DREAMS.
Practice iCS until you forget every other move in the game.
Practice iCS until you forget everything to do with anything.

Probably dumb question, but anyone got a good stage to practice in?

Depends. If you're trying to pratice a wall combo, walls will be required. I like Algol's stage. Sorta big and open, has walls, and ringouts.

No prob, it's all in how you feel the stage out d(^.^)b
Having trouble wrapping my head around learning characters. Guess I should mess around in practice some more.

It can be really tricky making tjings click. I suggest learning to recognize as many moves as you can stomach by name (notation). Once you can tell what most things are the game feels slower, and you have a foundation to build from.

Good luck, however you go about learning.

Thanks for that. I'll look into this as I am interested in learning multiple fighting games and their basics (like BlazBlue, Street Fighter, P4A, TTT2, etc.)
Anyone know a good place to learn more about fighting games? I am a little confused as to where to start...

oh well 22_88 means double tap the directions "down" or "up". the _ between the two numbers mean that either series of directional input will produce the desired result.

Ah, I should have figured that out. Thanks for the help, I kept misinterpreting it in my head (still getting used to thinking of the 8-wayrun as numbers in my head instead of directions). Anyway I'll keep poking away at characters~ Thanks again for all the tips and everything.

Finally got to play online, and it was quite fun~ Met some challenging opponents and a guy who thought everyone was scrubs... FUN : D
Wow, my internet really doesn't want me playing online... Keeps disconnecting me :< and I was looking forward to it.
    I feel like a change of pace... maybe a new main character... How do I pick one when there are so many ; _ ;
