NO MORE VAMPIRE SHIT
Range up for Talim's SC would be pretty good, although, I'd prefer she had more range to start with (make her lunge a bit more on her attacks). Not that it would ever happen, but I'd love to see Rachel Alucard's gimmick on her... using wind to control her jumps better and...
I disagree strongly.
1) All styles need defaults to be usable in tournaments, at which point, you've essentially assigned the style to a character anyway, going against the whole point of a generic CaS style.
2) Generic styles lacking in personality may allow you a greater variety of characters...
While I'm not saying we should be happy with whatever were given no matter how bad it is, we should not take the fact that were getting anything at all for granted.
SCV's unpopularity coupled with LS's stupidity all but killed the franchise and we're lucky to have anything.
I can't imagine...
Depends what your definition of "character" is.
I've made several fighting game characters on MUGEN, and with my current knowledge of Unity:
Importing sprites would be easy, but aligning them all again would take ages...
Writing a new animation system for the new engine would be pretty tough...
Right, but newcomer against newcomer, they don't know how to punish stuff, don't know they can step it, and spam it constantly.
It completely ruins the pace of the fight, ruins their experience, and needs to be controlled.
It's not looking great right now is it? :/
We can only hope that those samples are very much samples.
As for all this Raphael stuff, his gimmick is that he is a cool fencer with a bunch of stances, not all this tacked on vampire crap.
He isn't "funny" or weird, he's an essential.
Why would it be that far to the left compared to every other name?
It's just an artifact. The whole point of what I've shown is that these hours are more than likely just copies of current names blurred with a horizontal motion blur.
Wait... I feel I can make out letters here.
Kinda looks like IVY, but shifted to the right by the blur, now that I think about it. :|
Perhaps there aren't actually real names in the list at all yet and these lengths aren't really indicative of anything?
Defense barely matters in DD, but with the expanded dragonforging, even simple, early-game clothing levels out anyway.
You could argue that 100% Sleep/Possession/Petrify resist is important for pawns, but I'd argue it's more of a luxury. Not everyone is fighting Death, after all.
In most RPGs...
There's potential for such a thing, just look at the potential Dark Souls II had as a competitive yet custom-character-based game.
Should that come at the cost of a large part of Soulcalibur's experience? No.
Should this thing be "burdened" with the Soulcalibur brand, limiting its design? No.
