    Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I bought the game on Xbox at release, but later moved to playing on Steam. If all you want is to play ranked, then sure the Xbox version works. If you want to play casual lobbies however Xbox is 100% broken, with no possibility to search for lobbies.

This is the main problem with SC6. There's a decent fundamental gameplay, but it has been buried under layers and layers of gimmicks. CE:s. while varying wildly between characters I still find are the least objectionable. Reversal edge has no place in the game whatsoever and PS should have...

Too bad, I was really hoping that a season 3 would bring needed improvements in gameplay and online functions. Just have to wait and hope for a possible Soulcalibur 7 then.

I prefer brave edge, it felt less disruptive and gimmicky.

I'd like them to fix netcode first and foremost. I don't know how SC5 had less lag and more stable online play with fewer glitches and bugs than a game made today. I'd also like them to remove region separation in casual netplay, it makes no sense at all to segregate an already small playerbase...

I don't play ranked, so I really don't care that much about that. Ranked modes in a fighting game is just stupid, and i fear removing CaS from it might make people who already think it's a competitive mode take it even more seriously. Any marginal issues from CaS are entirely insignificant...

While I do think Namco's marketing department could be a lot more transparent it's nothing in itself that would bar me from buying a possible season 3, I can live with the wait. However, if they bring out a third season and wants me to shell out for it I think the game is long due for some...

Thank you, that explains why I haven't come across it until now.

I just encountered a fun winquote from Grøh I haven't seen before (granted, Grøh is not my most used character), anyone know when it was added to the game? Grøh starts talking about shouting out the names of attacks and how it could affect breathing and concentration, then turns to the camera...

But I don't want easy wins. I want a challenging and fun match, and while there are other stuff that could get in the way of this RE is something that's immediately disqualified here. I really don't have the patience to BA someone out of their RE habits until they learn, I just won't play them...

You hit the nail on the head here. While I have been annoyed by lag-assisted spamming of one cheap move many times in the past, it has never come even remotely close to the annoyance of having the flow of a match completely interrupted by RE usage. Regarding SCIV I actually liked the...

    Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

The problem is that whenever i play against "scrubs" they only use RE, meaning that a very much larger chunk of the mechanics now are a dead weight. I can tell you right now, even though SC is by far my favourite of the fighting games, if the next entry in the series has anything like RE I'll...

I'll be getting a computer that can handle Soulcalibur VI soon, and since it seems people have been getting it to work on Linux I'm thinking of trying it. I wanted to ask you PC players how the online population is, is it worth getting? I'm only interested in casual rooms here, if I want to play...

I play on Xbox. I haven't actually compared the games in detail regarding just input lag, but just by memory I don't feel like the lag when offline is significantly higher than previous games. I'll take your word for it if you think it's worse, but I don't think it's enough to explain the...

I have a few friends I have played all three games against, and you are correct there's a big difference between SC4 and SC5, by the time SC5 was released the difference was almost like night and day when switching between the games. However, SC5 and SC6 are not the same either. I won't say SC6...

    Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Hard agree from me, While SCVI is way better than SCV I really miss SCIV. Back in the day it was a really beautiful game with its dramatic lighting and I still think it holds up aesthetically, and music-wise it's my favourite in the series. Looking at mechanics I think SCIV was way above any...

At this point, I don't think we'll see any more content beyond the last DLC character, which seems to be Cassandra. Yes, there was the planted data but I don't think anything was decided at that point, just a plant to gauge interest. I would be incredibly surprised if they decide to go through...

Casual room search often just stands there spinning without finding anything in both region choices, could be that there really isn't anyone playing but that would mean this game has died down way faster than SC5. When there are rooms to be found the game just dumps us in a random room instead...

They mentioned work on online features, maybe they will actually try to fix the problems on Xbox. That should of course have been done right after release, but if they choose to do it now I'll take it.
