Astaroth Building Meter

Following up some testing I've done for Ω and Ezio and refining my hypothetical model about how to represent the edge meter numerically, I give you how much meter asta builds with his moves on hit:

27 - 3{K}A(17*10) / 3{K}{A} (17*10)
25 - 1AB(8*17) / 4{A+B}(18*7)
24 - 214A(10*24)
23 - CH 1BB(8*8*5) / BB(10*13) / 66A{B}(6*17) / 11BK(13*10)
22 - {K}(15*7)
21 - A CH A(6*8*7) / 214AAAAAA(10*3*2*2*2*2) /66AB(6*15)
19 - 2:8B+G
18 - 22B / 3{B} / 4{B} / 9{B+K} / 236B+K / 44{B}
17 - AB(6*11) / 9B+K / 28B+G
16 - 1BB(8*8) / Bb6 / 3KA(6*10) / 3k{A}(6*10) / 1KA(5*11) / Back Grab
15 - B+K on BT opponent (8*7) / 6{B+K} / 4B+KB(6*2*2*5) / 44B / 22K
14 - AA(6*8)
13 - 1AA(8*5) / WR A(Far) / 66{K} / Left Grab / Right grab / 63214A+G
12 - WR KA(2*10) / 4KK(6*2*2*2) / 4KA+G_B+G(6*2*4) / B+K(8*4) / A+G / 2B+G
11 - WR A(Close) / 3B / A+B(Far) / 44{A} / 66B / B+G
10 - 2B / FC B / WR B / 6K / 4A+B / 2A+G
9 - A+B(Close)
8 - CH 4A(6*2) / 6B / JMP B / FC 3K / 6B+K
7 - 6AA(2*5) / A+G(air)
6 - 4A / JMP A / 4B / 66K
5 - 3A / BT B+K / 44A
4 - 22AA(2*2) / 1A+G_B+G
3 - K / 3A+B / 2B+K
2 - 2A / FC A / 2K / FC K / Run K
1 - 63214B+G

I'm thinking about making a post in the Tactics forum describing how this model is supposed to work, but until then you can read my description of it in the pyrrha Ω SA. The short of it is that a string on hit will build an amount equal to the number of "points" its listed next to. 30 points makes a segment and 120 make a bar of meter. I've broken down strings into the amount of points built per hit (or subsequent attack throw) in parenthesis. On block a hit will build 40% as much meter rounded down, to a minimum of 2. On whiff it will build 20% to a minimum of 1. Whiffed throws build nothing and broken/BE throws build 1.

I noticed some peculiar/noteworthy things in producing this info regarding asta.

Depending on whether you input the BE command on 2B+G and 63214A+G before or after opponent takes damage, you may get full meter for the throw or just 1. The command throw is very hard to get 1 from, practically a JF. 2B+G there is a significant amount of time both before and after the point where it changes.

Due to the limitation on meter scaling on block by hit, 214AAAAAA builds a lot of meter for a blocked move. max[(10x0.4),2] + max[(3x0.4),2] + max[(2x0.4),2] + max[(2x0.4),2] + max[(2x0.4),2] + max[(2x0.4),2] = 4 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 14. More than an unbroken 63214A+G! Combined with the move breaking in 6.17 blocks and your ability to space opponent out by moving PT back at the right time, it seems like a monster on block against anyone who can't jG it. If they can watch out though, not only do you not gain meter or deal gauge damage and get left at some obnoxious -, but you build 50 points for opponent too(it's 6 hits but only needs to be jGed 5 times, 10 points per jG).

Are you saying if you use BE 2B+G you can potentially gain 50% meter? I tried this myself but I never ever got a meter refund. Could you elaborate on the timing?

Nope. I mean that 2B+G BE, aside from its using 60 meter, can either build 1 or 12, depending on when you input the BE. The timing to get 12 would be inputting the BE after opponent has already taken damage(been slammed into the floor the first time).

This sentence confused me. Okay thanks for clarifying. It's still not worth the meter for a measly 15 dmg and its only real value is for positioning your opponent with their back to a wall / ledge. But I would rather use it for GI, 22B BE combos or bullrush BE trampling.

Sure. I agree that 2B+G BE is generally not worth the meter regardless, outside of the special circumstances you mention or maybe if you need it to kill/get more damage in before time runs out/waste more time on the clock so time does run out.
