CEVO SFIV Season 2

CEVO will be hosting a 2nd season of SFIV! Same rules apply as the 1st season but the tournament will not be run over the course of multiple months. At most will take a week but we are looking to run it in a weekend (Fri-Sun) but since we both have jobs the date(s) the tournament is run will be TBD.
Now the tournament will have the guaranteed $250/150/100 payout but we'll also have a pot as well. $10 entry fee for the 2nd season that will go 70/20/10 towards the prize money, so this will increase the prize money for 1st - 3rd place. So if we get 150+ people again the prize money will look pretty decent for our winners.

Registration will be open for Season 2 on Friday May 27th – June 17th . The tournament will be run either June 19th – June 24th or June 26th – July 1st. If we don't get enough people paying it will have to be run through course of the month and we won't be able to run it quickly as we want because can't give away free money every couple of weeks. So it goes ; running quickly = pay entry fee (run quicker +bigger payout) or run slowly (but free entry and less payout)

Game / Option Settings

- Players: 1 vs. 1
- Round Time: 99 secs
- Rounds: 2 Rounds
- Handicap: OFF
- Characters: ALL Characters are allowed
- Round Winners: MUST keep their character, Match Losers MAY change characters if they choose
- Starting a game with the wrong rules or settings will result in a forfeiture of the current stage for the host team
- No game breaking glitches

The tournament will be run at the max 5 days so no scheduling matches. Will run this on the weekend and get it done in 2-3 days.

The plan is to do the first day of matches until we get to semi finals matches (with all the loser bracket matches done as well). Then the 2nd day will be the semi final matches (with all the loser bracket matches done as well). The 3rd day will be the final bracket of players (Grand Finals).

Connection Issues

With the first bracket of matches it will be possible to “float” players if the connection is 3 bars or lower. Some people have bad 3 bar connections and some don't.

In the case someone can't connect with a player this means someone has a NAT that isn't open or moderate. The best we can do is float you to another or keep trying to connect with your opponent. To make this run as smoothly as possible it's best you have your NAT set to at the least MODERATE. It's easy to change once you go and open your ports on your router and takes no more than 10 minutes.

In the case someone has a poor connection (generally 2 bars or less) there are basically two choices; Forfeit and get a refund or play the match out. Once a choice is made there is no going back so if you decide to do the match and after you lose a match decide that you want to take the FFW.

Most connections are 3-5 bars now anyway so most matches should be playable. Now in the case there is a bad connection with a player it's probably a two players from opposite sides of the US. Seeing that this is online play there isn't really nothing I can do about this and is something that comes with online play.

This tournament will only be open to US and Canada residents to keep the connections as stable as possible.

More information about the second season of Street Fighter 4 will come after a week or two.

Once we get enough replies back about this, then we will set up Registration and get this thing started.

The only thing new from season 1 to season 2 is that season 2 you will have to pay 10 dollars to enter, but it goes towards the 1st - 3rd prize pot. SO all the money we get from registration will go towards 1st - 3rd place.

1st. 250 + 70 % of Registration money
2nd. 150 + 20 % of Registration money
3rd. 100 + 10 % of Registration money

what does everyone think about paying for this event?

Just to let everyone know, If you guys do pay for this event, not only will the 1st - 3rd prize money be more but it will be a much faster tournament.

If we don't' get enough replies and responders then we will run the free event but it will take longer and not be that much prize money

Are you guys not interested or just waiting a while to think about it? We can't wait too long for replies, maybe only till Sat/Sun then it goes to a free tournament. Especially if no one even replies in the thread. Remember the tournament will last at longer if we do it for free but up to you guys.
