I'm not sure how many of you are aware of it, but Devil May Cry 4 is getting a special edition releasing on the PS4 with new content including the Legendary Dark Knight difficulty (previously a PC exclusive) and a host of new (-ish) characters including Vergil, Trish and Lady.

Each of the new characters will have new cut scenes, new moves and abilities, though each character will go through the same levels and bosses that Nero and Dante tackled in the original game. Lady will go through Nero's missions while Trish will take on Dante's missions. Vergil takes on the entire campaign from start to finish.

First up, a brief look at what Vergil can do in the new game. This footage features Legendary Dark Knight mode and Ultimate Vergil (similar to Ultimate Dante and Nero in the original DMC4) with unlimited DT.

Vergil's Dark Slayer style received a few upgrades. He's based on his DMC3 self carrying look-a-like weapons of Force Edge and Beowulf, and incorporates some of his DmC moves while bringing in a host of new abilities. Chief among these abilities in the new Focus or Concentration meter on the top of his lifebar. As Vergil fights stylishly his focus improves increasing his meter and allowing him to unlock and utilize his more powerful abilities. Think of it as a super meter and some of his new abilities as EX moves. If Vergil takes damage, however, he'll lose his concentration and the meter will deplete preventing from using his more powerful stuff. He's being described as a more friendlier and easier to use version of his DMC3 self.

Trish will be using the Blade of Sparda and Lady is described as a zoner/projectile specialist. New footage of them supposedly coming soon.

So what do you guys think? Worth giving DMC4 another go? The game will be available in digital only format in the US on PS4.

Surprised there isn't more interest in this. Anyway, a ton of footage has been posted around the 'net and I'm not sure anyone here has seen them, so here you go.

So lots of good stuff to look at an analyze. We won't really get into the nitty-gritty until we can get our hands on the game, though, but I like what I see with Vergil's updates and changes in DMC4. Feels like he's a more fleshed out, 'real' character compared to his DMC3 self that was largely a string of boss moves - while it worked somewhat well - felt to rigid and too limiting compared to Dante and later Nero.

Now we have Vergil in DMC4 and now his Yamato is a far better weapon than ever before with a ton of new moves, combo strings, launchers and depth that couldn't be found in DMC3. Force Edge lost a lot, and no longer can be dual-wielded together with Yamato outside of a particular string based off Agni & Rudra.

As mentioned in one of the above videos, Vergil has new summoned swords moves and like Dante and Nero has special properties added while in DT mode. The great Vergil is much better than before and far more flexible. I'm kinda disappointed he doesn't get any new weapons for DMC4 or much of an expanded storyline (have to wait for DMC5 I suppose), I'm pretty satisfied with what they've shown so far.

I'm less impressed with Trish and Lady, but maybe if I can play them for a bit, I might be more interested in them.

What about you guys?
