I've found that people who cry about the economy (including the news) don't really understand how it works in the first place and cause unneeded hysteria. Yes the United States is in a lot of debt; that's how the system works. We've screwed up in a lot of places, but causing mass panic about the economy is probably the worst thing we can do for it.
So, I've grown to care about my own finances more than the country's or the world's.
