FestiveKiwi's CAS Originals and 2P Costumes

Amazing! I'm assuming this is Azwel's fighting style by the lack of weapons?
Yes, it was Azwel's style, but more because I wanted her to be able to have that pose where she seems to be offering the apple. But in other contexts, where a weapon would be intersecting an item, you can always disable weapons from displaying when in viewer mode--which ends up being essential for presenting roughly one in fifteen of my designs, if I had to guess at the figure.

Anyway, kind of a crazy coincidence here: I mean, I know a huge number of pop culture references of all sorts come in for replication in CaS these days, but I still have to guess that these two characters were not the most likely in the world, so it's entertaining that our two on-a-whim designs converged on this conceptual space, and we both happened to upload them here--very entertaining!

I love that so many of your designs involve hand items lol. I rarely use them because it's difficult for me to get past how they look in battle. If only we had Viola's style back... The lack of a held weapon opens up so many creative possibilities!

Thanks! Yeah, ideally I'd like it if all of my creations were feasible outside of stillshots, but sometimes the creative urge with regard to some concept or another wins out and I create something that looks brilliant (or at least good, I hope) in the still shots, but is an utter mess in live play. ;) A fair few of these are also cases of non-SC reference designs--in some such cases, it's just really useful to combine existing objects to create an ad-hoc weapon or tool to sell the recreation of/allusion to the reference character.

Alright guys, here's a few more. This next series is some Sophitia recreations. This first one is her Soul Blade 2P costume. I feel like this costume looks kind of boring in SC6, but it also stays pretty true to the original, so there's that. I had fun using stickers on the knees as a hole/slot. Wish I could have done something better with the gloves, but the glove options in this game are pretty bad. Had to use the sun sticker on the sleeveless top because it was an undergarment and I can't make it orange otherwise D:

Next is her Playstation-exclusive costume from Soul Edge. This one is so fun! It's so out of place in a game like Soul Calibur, but I'm still so here for it. The hat was difficult! I tried using Talim's hat as well as stickers on some other hats, but I decided to say screw it and just give her a hat that matches her skirt. I also tried to Rococo shirt, but no matter what I did, it didn't look right. Anyway, some people might not like this because it strays from the original (especially with the holsters that are no where in the original), but I did what I thought looked best.

Here we have Sophitia's great Soul Calibur 2P. I love this and I've seen it recreated so many times! There's so many different ways to go about creating this, but this is my attempt.

Finally, we have probably the most-recreated Sophitia costume of all time: her Soul Calibur 3 2P. I see this all the time! I spent about a hundred thousand hours tweaking this to get it perfect. I especially love the stickers on the skirt. I think this is truly the best I could possibly do considernig how much time I spent on it.

I like to pop in on new talent just to see who is up and coming in the community. This gallery isn't terrible however their are a few things I see wrong here. Each creation is basically a cut and paste job not much depth to flush out the overall cas. Lack of stickers and very flat matted colors don't exactly give them that flair that's needed.

Start off with a general concept then use that as basis to continue building from their.

It's been a while, but I'm going to throw out some more of my favorite Talim creations :) This first one is a recreation of her Soul Calibur 4 1P outfit. I actually don't really like this outfit nor do I like my recreation all that much, but I'm throwing it here anyway, lol.

This next one is not a direct recreation, but is heavily influenced by Talim's kitty costume from Soul Calibur 4. I just love this one! Of course it is not exact by any means, but I feel like I captured the general vibe of her kitty costume.

That's all I have for now :) Enjoy!

Time to post some more creations! Let's start with Setsuka. This first costume is inspired by her SC3 1P costume, but is not a direct recreation. I made the colors much more vibrant - maybe even a little bit TOO vibrant - but there you are. I love the look of that cute kimono over the rest of the outfit. The main downside is that the clothing pieces aren't super creative since it's already using 3 of the main pieces from her clothing set, but oh well, still looks cute.

This next one is a direct recreation of her SC3 2P costume. I know that literally everyone has done this, but it is my time to do this too :) The hardest part was getting the mountains on the pants right, but I did the best I can. I think it's pretty spot-on.

This last one is one of my greatest prides. This was INSPIRED by, but not a direct recreation of, her SC4 2P costume. The part I'm most proud of is that I was always bothered by the fact that her boots were attached to her pants, and I'd rather be able to use them separately! So what I did was put a pattern on the pants part and colored it to look like fishnets. I then used stickers to give her underwear. So, I'm sorry to mar Hilde's modesty with the upskirt shot but honestly I had to show off my great work here lol. It really does look like boots on skin instead of boots over pants! Also I was stoked to use Amy's dress because no one ever uses Amy's dress unless they're making a character that looks like Amy lol.

Here I have a few more Cassandra recreations. First is everyone's favorite Cassandra costume of all time, her Soul Calibur III 2P. I have both colors as well! I'm sorry about the absolutely terrible quality of the first image, but there is truly nothing better out there. I really liked using the sticker on her chest skin to make it look like there were strings holding her shirt together like in the reference images.

Good jobs!
My favorite is the SCIII Cassandra 2p color 2.
The reference looks awesome already and you recreated it splendidly.
I like it a lot :)

If you appreciate a constructive criticism, i'd drop the cape on the Hilde, it would be nice, but the clipping errors are to extreme for my taste.

And for your SC4 Cassandra, her shirt looks a bit too busy, maybe increase the size of the decal, or maybe look for alternatives and change the shirt.

I myself don't cas a lot, so take what i say with a grain of salt.

Thanks so much for the feedback! Cassandra's shirt was definitely the part I struggled with the most for that costume. No matter what I did, nothing actually looked right. Let me know if you have any suggestions for what would match her original costume better.

I haven't dropped any original characters in a while, but I did want to make one OC for every playing style in the game, so I have one for Hilde, Haohmaru, and Hwang.

This first one is Nolwenn, who uses Hilde's fighting style. I really wanted to use the Holy Knight bikini armor and Hwang's hat, so I added them to this character and used the scaled pattern on a lot of the equipment to match the Scaled Fauld. I thought her back looked a little bare, so I added some chains hanging across her back :)

This next one is Kanako, a Japanese warrior who uses Haohmaru's fighting style. For this look, I wanted to use the Tekken undergarments and some of the flame armor (I think it's called the Enlightened armor?). I also included a shot of her face and makeup without her head armor. There's not too much to say about this one, but I am happy with how it turned out.

Finally, I have Min-seo, a Korean warrior who uses Hwang's fighting style. I wanted to use the Enlightened pants, and Setsuka's top and the tiger lily armor and prayer beads fit in really well too. I love how this one turned out as well!

Who doesn't love Ivy's George Washington costume? :) This is not a direct recreation, but it is inspired by her costume. My costume is a little sexier than the original, and I know the point of the original is supposed to be very non-sexualized, but... the pirate top, come on :P It's amazing for this costume. The Hilde boots worked out great as well.

Next I have this costume that I'm actually not in love with, but it's fine. I just really wanted to use the Defender Coat on Ivy. I know it was made for Hilde, but... it was also kind of made for Ivy. I like it over her original suit with heavy armor as well. It's a bit more of a badass look. Overall it still seems a bit messy to me though.

I have a few more costumes coming up. This next one is circus ringleader Tira. I really wanted to use the Sweet Chocolate suit, and what better way to use it than make it sickeningly pink and obnoxious? :) I used that playboy bunny suit underneath for the cuffs and extra bowtie. Also, Hilde's boots are the best.

Here's Taki. I wanted to use Setsuka's undergarments as Taki's main suit since I thought they were very fitting for her character. I also wanted to incorporate plenty of armor into Taki's costume because a lot of past 2P and 3P costumes for Taki have had quite a bit of armor. I think this look suits her quite well!

These may be my last set of creations. It seems like things are quiet around this forum anyway :P Of course, I had to save my main for last - Talim. Let's go through these one by one.

First I have Nurse Talim. Look, I'm sorry I put a 15 year old in a nurse outfit, BUT you have to admit that she looks super cute and is definitely a sign of the times in 2020/2021. I liked using the minidress as an undergarment underneath Asuka's Shirt. I just wished the textures matched better.

Next is Cowgirl Talim. I love the patterns on this one with the bandana-print shirt and the cow print socks and scarf. Also, the weapons used (tonfas) work out great with the clacky noises they make during combat.

Finally, we have what I like to call Kawaii Talim. I love the kitty cap as well as the cat sticker used on her crop top. Very cute stuff here. Very anime.
