Let's Go Drifting!

I wanted to see who many people on here are fans of drifting? I've been doing in myself for about two years so it would be cool to meet some more players that are into it.

Let's Drifting!

Let me tell you about myself and drifting.

This was my first car ever, 1987 Mazda RX-7:

It was pretty much my daily driver, it had a really strong engine though, it lacked any sort of high class suspension. I ended up crashing it really bad in the rain and we put it away for about a year and then when the drifting competitions got started over here we decided to make repairs and get it ready for track use.

I ended up converting it into a still ugly, but green machine. I didn't change much from the daily driver days, but some roll bars and strut bars.

Anyway I've been using that car up until I crashed in at my favorite local event "Motoring J Style". It was the first time I've qualified for a competition, TOP 16/32. I got to excited and wrecked. So I've been out of the drifting scene for a bit. But starting February I'll be back out on the track. I drive around a sexy 1985 Toyota corolla for a daily right now, that RX7 I think is a lot more fun to drive.

Let's Drifting!

yeah, but its been getting me into trouble recently, I can't even drive it anymore. I had to get a ghetto 1993 corolla as a daily driver now. Anyway here is the AE86

So what do you guys think of the sport?

Let's Drifting!

It's fun to watch but not a practical racing technique unless you're in the snow/dirt/loose gravel/mud.

You have good taste in the FC, I approve.

Let's Drifting!

Yeah I really like the fc's performance, but its stock suspension is really twitchy. I had to throw on these things called "rear toe eliminators" its helped out a lot in terms of a twitchy car.

i dont really drift much (only go on roads so its a bit risky but i do the ocasional slideways :P )

this is my baby taken a little while ago (had a mishap last year and havent been able to get it restored yet (not a drifty mishap either)

im more of a straight line kinda guy. I owned my own brake and aligment shop up until the recent fires in san diego. I must be retarded cause i cant figure out how to insert a pic of my hot rod in my post. cars are my life other than video games. I dont know dick about anything else. you should try american cars though.

Mustangs are great, actually the 5.0 is a great drifting platform! My dad actually considered using a 5.0 for my next drifting season, but we decided to stay with the RX7. Oh and dave, did you know a lot of us drifters swap USA built motors, especially the LS series motors from chevorlet into out cars ^_- They are really balanced, cheap, and have good power.

Oh and for millionhp, I used to have the red 1985 as a daily driver, but I got in trouble with the authorities. So I had to buy a 1993 Corolla to get to school and work for now. Basically that red coupe is going to be a track car, because the Highway Patrol marked it as an unsafe vehicle, and threw me a 900+ ticket a long with it.

hawt car twiggy
