Not much of an anime watcher these days. If I'm watching anime, I'm normally rewatching the ones I've already seen as most of the stuff coming out now isn't really catching my eye.

The last anime that I really got into was Death Note (which was really good until the second season IMO). That was it. I haven't really gotten into a series since then.
 
I mainly rewatch the ones I have (Which isn't much at all). I'm not a huge fan of the genre in general.

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi (Books are far better though)
Shakugan no Shana

I did like watching Naruto until I got tired of having to stay up til 1 AM to watch.
 
I'm currently watching Bleach, Naruto, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and Full Metal Panic!. If you haven't already seen Code Geass, go watch it right now. One of the best series I've ever seen.

Although I have to add MONSTER to that list Cha Cha. As far as I'm concerned its style is much better than Death Note, taking the crown in the psycho horror genre. Hellsing is a good one to put in the list too.

IMO as more and more anime's released they become more and more cookie cutter :/ That's why I don't watch any of the comedies because they use the same jokes and yeah sometimes its funny but it gets old fast, like 17 year olds saving the world does. It's a shame the seinen stuff doesn't do nearly as well as the angsty fluff you get in almost every anime I see today (including Geass, you can't make me like that show).

I really liked Wagaya no Oinari-Sama at first but it got really boring after a while I think I stopped at 9 or 10, did it ever pick back up?
 
i re-watched aim for the top gunbuster and diebuster a few months back. With the exception of gurren lagann there really hasn't been any recent animes that I have really hardcore liked.

Geass was meh but it proves to me that mecha is a dying sub-genere....and if anyone here has ever read the book "dune" it really has alot in common with geass. I'm not accusing it of plagerization..its just interesting to see how alike the two works of fiction are.

dont get me started on naruto and bleach

in my opinion the whole genere has been steadily going down hill since 2002.

But anyway, that's a lot of anime. Far more than I'd want to own. However at least you buy and support their stuff. I'll admit I was fairly pissed when Geneon shut down.

But yeah my top anime list is a top 5.

1) .hack//SIGN (best entry in the dothack series IMO)
2) Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
3) Samurai Champloo
4) Paranoia Agent
5) Cowboy Bebop

Those are the 5 anime I will enjoy, no matter how many times I rewatch them.

oh hey jaxel, i knew you'd be in here sooner or later. At least he doesn't have lucky star on the list. and props to kino for having saikano; thats my personal fav. Its the only proof that Gonzo is actually capable of doing good (they were on a short leash...but they still made it).

and the lack of captain Tyler in this thread disturbs me
