Considering that with save file editing, you can put any part into an “unbreakable” slot and it becomes unbreakable, I’m gonna call BS on this. They would just have to allow for more slots to be unbreakable, and a toggle per slot doesn’t seem too unreasonable.

Not feasible might simply mean costs more money to implement than it's worth, which is something we can't know just because it can be done roughly with save file editing. That doesn't count the UI implementation or debugging that has to be done for an official release.

Either way, I'm happy. Having the characters look amazing for a round or two and then run around in their underwear for the rest of the fight is something I hate about playing modern SoulCalibur.
 
Would it really be that hard to add a breakable/unbreakable slot for each slot? I like armor break, just not when it ends in my character being in underwear. I usually tailor the break to look as normal as I can, but I'd rather have at least a little, rather than none.
 
IIRC with every update a game gets there has to be tests from the console manufacturers before they get the go ahead. If I'm correct then Sony would probably demand every piece of clothing to be tested for game breaking bugs. Absurd but if this was too much a common occurrence then that can stigmatize your brand. I mean I'm not even on Steam and I'm aware of all the buggy incomplete games on there.
 
Honestly I’d be fine with a universal toggle. Equipment break has been so annoying. I’ve had to design my characters around it so they don’t look like complete trash once it’s all broken.

Personally i think that's part of the fun. It does get annoying though sometimes. I'd rather have the option to toggle, but otherwise a universal slider allows people who dont like it to remove it.
 
That's fair. I tend to eun with a more simple Aesthetic to make my characters easier to draw,so i dont tend to run into that problem.

Hard to know without looking at how their system is set up in the code but because something isn't hard doesn't necessarily mean it isn't still time-consuming and costly.
 
An idea for special equipment: gems or crystals. Sometimes you want to give armor an extra oomph, or break the single color, so it looks a bit different from the standard design, but the ball and other geometric parts just look meh. Also a special equipment knife /dagger, just like the flintlock we got.
