Surprise! It's a new guy!

Hello Hello, just another newbie poppin' in. I have literally just played Soul Calibur V for the first time today, and I was blown away. Though I don't own it yet, I plan to pick up the previously stated game as soon as possible, and would like to join the community whenever ready. So far, I have only played as five characters. A Mitsurugi custom character (not a fun experience), Ivy (same as latter), Maxi (the trend continues), Leixia (now things are rolling) and Hilde, who has caught most of my attention. I have read up on her history, though, and hope dearly that she doesn't get mixed up in any sorts of bans this time around. Transmission terminated.

Yeah, I feel your pain/fears too -- I love Hilde, and I want to see her stay this time. So far, it looks like she's completely fine, though. You're probably safe to pursue her as a main. :)

That's good. I had several friends playing in the same situation as me, and it still came out pretty even (despite the obvious hatred for the lance). Just in case though, I made sure, and will make sure, to get some practice in with Leixia.

Just got the game two days ago. Loving it! I'm still pretty bad, so right now it's just chipping away at arcade mode. (stupid 6th stage...)

Try it on Beginner settings first then have a go at normal

I'm tempted to, but the first 4 stages don't put up much of a fight, so I'm far more tempted just to man up and slug through it. Thanks though.

If you're using hilde try and stay back and poke them to death if they're too dangerous to be up close

Yep, that seems like the prodominant strategy. I usually just try to beat them down, back off, strike, and repeat if I can. But we all know that it never ends up being that easy.

Most AIs tend to fall for the same moves over and over no matter what so see if there is any Hilde moves like that i know of several for Nightmare but ive yet to try Hilde

Ah it's you. Well it's good to see how you came to us man. What system are you on pray tell and I hope in time, your friends will come to hate the sword as much as they hate the lance and come to hate the lance twice as much as they do now.

Check out those bands I mentioned by the way. I wish you the best in finding some music that makes ya happy. At the moment, even if they're a far cry from Florence and the Machine I'd also recommend The Joy Formidable to anyone.
