Upcoming Events For Soulcalibur V

  • Moderator
In years past, there's usually a down period after the conclusion of EVO until the next major event for us, but this year, there hasn't been much of a down period in major tournaments hosting Soulcalibur with plenty of events to check out going into 2013.

There were also some people asking about posting events on the front page, so I thought that it would be great to create one post for the upcoming events and include details and videos for those who are interested in attending.

NEC XIII is posed to be even bigger with tons of tournament action along with moving to a new venue that's only a subway trip from the heart of Philadelphia.

Good post Malice. Always wanted to do something like this but I'm shitty and lazy.

I'll be at NEC for sure and might try for FR if I can make the trip work.

I wanted to write something like this for a while but didn't have the time or motivation since I'm an old ass man with a stressful job, a even more stressful family, and other responsibilities to manage. I figured I take a little time out of my vacation to do something.

I also wanted to write something for the new people. Now is a great time to look into making it out to one of these events and play with other people who also love the game, as well as show the past events which were a lot of fun and showcased a ton of hot matches.

Plus we have some awesome people in this community that I love hanging out with. See you soon.

^ Hell yeah.

Dear Forum People - If you haven't been out to one of these events and it is a possibility for you, I strongly encourage you to make it out to one. Sure playing on the internet is fun (no), but playing the game in person with other community members is a total blast. I can assure you that it will be good times.

If you're new to driving out of your comfy area, I recommend saving up for a GPS if you don't already have one on your phone. Then set it to Austin Powers voice and you're good to go.

WGC is less than a month before Final Round. Unless the Japanese, Singaporeans, Koreans, etc. show up to hype up WGC also, I doubt there will be much motivation to save up an extra $500-$1000 to fly to France instead of Atlanta. It's sad how things are going right now. From what here it's not "cool" to play SC right now in France anyway.

Yeah, other than Keev and Kayane, the only time I'd hear about the French talk about the game now is to bitch about it.

Wish I had the funds to travel to France but, even if I did, they banned my chick, so...yeah...that wouldn't happen. Though it would be kinda cool to go over there and blow them up with Pyrrha or somebody else.

I'd just like to encourage anybody who can to come to Absolute Battles. It would be awesome if we can get a big turnout and show that the game is serious business in the area.

I really wish I could go to Youmacon, that sounds like it's going to be an awesome tournament. NEC is less likely for me because it's right before juries and finals, but I might see what I can do about it. The most likely options are Apex (makes me wish I applied to Rutgers >.>) and FR.

Yes please go to live events! the more of you go, the more electrifying the atmosphere, the more people would keep playing the game... the more we people in Asia would keep playing this game, and wanna travel over. If things get good I, chan, baron etc. might start playing seriously again and maybe you'd see a group of us in Final Round ;) Then I'm sure we can bug one or two Japanese to go too.

I'll be at WGC2013!
The fact that it is one of the few majors in Europe will (hopefully) attract a lot of players - if not from France for whatever reason, then from the rest of Europe (Germany, UK, Italy,...). I remember Cannes 2010, when we had 8 different national teams.... :)
For the other tournaments: I'll surely watch the stream, but it's nowhere near affordable for me.

i prereg'd for apex but i dont think im going to be able to go anymore :( such a damn shame cuz its at my school. oh well, ill be at NEC!
