Voldo Soul Gauge Glitch Discovered... Summarily Banned From Tournament Play

Recently a glitch was discovered with Voldo that allows him to activate Soul Charge, or his Critical Edge, even if he has less than 1 bar of super. I wont go into more details on how to do the glitch, but it's pretty evident, easy to spot, and not something a Voldo player would ever do "by accident". This is a potentially game breaking bug, and we have to wait for Namco Bandai to fix it via game patches.

Speaking with other players and moderators, the general consensus seems to be to soft-ban the glitch. Voldo would not be banned, but the use of the glitch would be. If a player does the glitch in a tournament match, they will automatically lose that MATCH. This is because using a Critical Edge through this glitch may often result in the end of the current round. If such a case were to happen, it would be hard to return to the status quo. To make things easier for tournament organizers, and uniformity of enforcement, we have decided to penalize an entire match.

This however, is a "soft-ban". And as such, soft-bans are dependent on players acting to enforce the rules. If a player uses this glitch on you in tournament, you must immediately pause the game, and call a tournament organizer to launch a protest. If you choose to instead continue the match, instead of halting at the time of the offense, then you are tacitly choosing to forfeit your right to protest the results of the match. You can not let the infraction go, and then only complain after you've lost the remainder of the set.

So i wasn't going crazy when i could've sworn, this one Voldo did a CE on me when he didn't have a full meter. Good thing you brought it up. Hope it gets fixed soon.

I can't help but wonder if Tira's Soul Charge glitch is connected to SCV, where you could use EX attacks using half of a charge. How much of this game is recycled code? Probably a lot more than we think, considering how small a budget the developers were given.

Well its quite obviious.
There is still Raphael old SE K bug (bets stuck in walls whiffing awkwardly even at contact) and few Others from scV.

They even recycled the budget excuse…. and yet proceeded to sell the game as AAA plus season pass… so no sympathy from me.

Regardless of budget, code reuse is a good practice. The bugs in these games mostly show up with the new stuff: JG in SCV, Soul Charge in SC6, etc. (Although there was that one bug in SCV with characters being grabbable off the ground that's been around since at least SC1. I wonder if they fixed that in 6.)

I just hope that when they try to patch all of this nonsense(and utterly fail), that Mina will become the new post patch Viola.
