So I'm sure any of you new to the game have a word or two to say about what's fair and what's not. I consider myself new to the game still, but I find that I'm winning more of my games than I'm losing now.
But, the sting remains...
If you're anything like me, you patiently wait for your opponent to be found, then he disconnects for God-knows-what-reason. This repeats once or twice until finally a promising matchup arises. You pick your favorite Xiba skin/character, select your stage, and then you see who your opponent is... Your heart sinks, you probably swear more than once, and immediately you're in a negative mindset and discredit everything about your opponents style.
Who did they choose? Probably Nightmare or Siegfried. I see them more than anyone else. But it's not just those two that make me want to chew my fingers off so I can't subject myself to their gameplay anymore. Viola and Cervantez are nothing short of the most annoying, projectile/magic spamming characters I've seen to date.
And after losing the game due to your mindset, your speed, your rage quit, or whatever, you ask yourself "How the hell do I beat that? It just isn't fair!"
So you shake the bad attitude and hit up the 8wayrun.com forums to check out the Xiba subforum in hopes of finding that miraculous and perfect "How to beat [insert bastard character here]" thread. After about 20 minutes of searching thread titles, and maybe searching the entire forums, you don't find much. It starts to seem like there's no answer, right?
Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.
I have been to MLGs, I've seen videos of Justin Wong and other pros, I've watched Xiba beat these styles. All of them. So before you put your bad-attitude pants back on, swallow this: They can be beaten. It can be done.
The real question is "How?"
With that in mind, let's hear from everyone that's ever had trouble beating that one harsh character. Specifically, for those looking to give advice to us who are in need, I will start the discussion by saying I cannot stand Nightmare, Natsu, or Siegfried right now. I find that even though I can run really good combos on Night/Sieg, all of my work seems totally in vain after they land 1 or 2 hits on me and have already done seemingly equal damage to my 10 hits from combos. And natsu, well we've all heard the complaint, she's too damn fast.
Hopefully we can gather some decent information and start a fire under the Xiba sub with this thread :) Cheers for now
