Voldo Q&A / General Discussion

It seems the majority of Voldo's moves out of Blind Stance can be stepped fairly easily, so which moves would you recommend for killing the opponent's step? I can think of a few, but they are either too slow or too close range. The only one that seems any good in most situations might be BS 9A? BS 2A+B seems like the only other option...
 
Ok so I precise my question, what move to take the advantage when Voldo is blocking an oponment who spam safe and quick moves. Is there anything better than 2A ?
 
best ways to go into BS are 1A, CR [K], 44B (only if they dont step all day long), 4A, 22_88A+B (mystery dance is awesome once they fear mystery dance into CE)
 
It really depends on the moves they are using and how they are using them. Examples?

If they use a lot of B attacks, step and punish with something like 22_88B.

A lot of AA, you can 1[K] under, 2A+B, CR, etc.

You can push them out or retreat and use distance to cause their attacks to whiff and then punish.

It's fast but still on the threshold of being reactable to anybody with decent reflexes who puts a little bit of time into learning to see it, it's punishable on block, negative on hit, doesn't seem to combo from moves or into moves and to top it all off it only does 14 damage.

1A should seriously either have a second hit that it can string/NC or it should be 3 or 4 frames faster.

I never use 1A except by accident while trying to mash 2A. 1A is garbage.
 
Oh, I haven't seen anything, it's just that it's marked with GI in the movelist.
Ahh, I think I figured it out. When you hold down 66A+B on counter hit it head spins them and Voldo does the A+K animation. A+K is also listed as a GI, like the rest of the hit absorbing moves. So I guess technically they're calling that a GI even though no one can hit you during it.
 
Very odd. I wonder if 66A+B has odd properties if hit during the animation. I'm guessing that would make it the 4th hit absorbing move that Voldo has which isn't very useful. Voldo has some great stuff, but once your opponent knows what these do, they actually get away with doing more damage as it's a guaranteed counter hit on MC B+K, or a good ground hit from LF B+K. Oh well...

Did you knew that Voldo cant GI lows in BS? So in BS when opponent re-GI and make low its guaranteed!!!!! This game is just pathetic.

It's bad enough that voldo's B,B and BS 8WR B and MCHT (B+K) counter whiffs point blank vs crouching opponents on a normal occurence but now he can't GI lows???? This is really gonna make voldo's defensive game crap if they don't do something about this. Is there any other characters in the game that are having similar issues? I know during a match vs a Pyrra player i stepped one of her EX moves (some 3 hit string that Gaurd Crushes on last hit) and her B,B and i still got hit from behind her when I went up to punish. Sorry for the rant guys, ive just experienced some whacky stuff thus far, I really hope they patch this stuff out.
