It would be a great idea if PS improved and expanded the guest character styles from SC3. That would give them room for new characters or even giving a current character a new style.

Come on, you know it's fun to play as Lynette.

At first, I wasn't too fond of the new characters, but now, I'm starting to like the idea of expanding the roster. As long as the characters make sense and are thoroughly developed, I'm all for it.

I'd love to see some of the cut characters all grown up, but hey... We all gotta move on sometime.

What styles would you like to see in the next Soul Calibur and why?

My two favorites would be an Aztec-influenced warrior (couldn't technically be an Aztec, as their empire was already destroyed at this point) and a Spanish Conquistador. The Aztec would use one of those brutal spiked war clubs they were so fond of (one-handed, not another Astaroth). The Conquistador could use a saber+dagger style and have a lot of parry moves. And maybe a pistol or rifle for his CE and maybe unblockables. He wouldn't be much like Raphael if they did him right, and they could give Raph more supernatural moves to differentiate them further.

For previously established characters, I'd love to see Talim and Zasalamel come back. And I want to see Bangoo make it in. I mean, really, how long have we been expecting him in the next SC?

I've heard that none of the SC games ever do good in Japan... Comapared to Tekken.
No, actually people like both of them, they would say that none of the SC games ever do good in Japan... Comapared to Tekken is because that SCV had pissed a lot of Japanese off and I think you guys all know the reson why. The Japanese loved Soul Calibur and Tekken, but since Soul Calibur 5 came out, it disappointed a lot of players. Maybe Soul Calibur is not as popular in Japan compare to America or Europ, but that does not mean people dislike that game or was never good in Japan.

IMHO best for SC6, if it ever happens, would be to ignore SCV. It needs a fresh start, not a reboot but I think much things did fall short and were rather disappointing in SCV. Before the game was released they announced that there'll be much new characters in SCV, but in the end the roster was very disappointing to me and I get the feeling they wanted to pull what Street Fighter III and Tekken 3 did, but weren't as consequent as the devs of those games were. I have very mixed opinions about SCV as it didn't really give me enough memorable new characters and I also missed some old ones which without SC wouldn't be SC. A letdown on both ends. Also alot of them had their movelist cut down, had no story background which gives you the feeling they were thrown in for no apparent reason and cheapens the overall impression.
Instead of a "Super SoulCalibur V", which I get the impression most members here are hoping for, I would like them to focus entirely on SC6. Give the game a good and lengthy Storymode, this'll get it some attention from some potentially new players. Give it also a solid tutorial mode which will teach (in a fun way) newcomers the fundamentals - this is something I find very important and most fighting games make the mistake and do not include this. Character endings like the ones in Tekken would also be a good motivation for some players to spend enough time with the game. I hope Namco does give the dev team enough time to come up with fresh and unique gameplay ideas... the one implemented in SCV, and I know a lot of you hate to hear this, were borrowed from the Street Fighter series, and although that is not necessarily a bad thing - it does however take away some of SC uniqueness (which is part of why I love this series).
On a side note: I would like them to bring weapon break back, you know like in Soul Blade :D.

^So... you don't like SCV because you miss some character, the removal of moveset fluff, the story mode that actually tells a story for once, and that there aren't character endings you'll only watch once?

You mean missing characters people grew attached to throughout the series' growth, removal of fluff some would argue brought variety and possible strategic complexity, and a storymode that reminds us why a character is motivated to do something completing why a player may want to obsess over that character while not being forced to use a single badly written character they don't particularly like?

I don't see how people get attached to the characters at all. Chances are he plays an S&S character so why doesn't he just play Pyrrha or Omega? If he wants a more aggressive S&S he can play Pat.

I honestly don't know. You'd have to ask a Talim fan.
If someone is obsessing about a game character then they need to step back and reevaluate some things.
You're stereotyping negativity. Besides, wouldn't it be the same issue if Christie or Lili was taken out of Tekken?

She's just an annoying little girl who says to repeat the same thing over and over. I don't see how people get attached. Well I can understand if that character experienced something similar to one of your life experiences but if they get replaced just move on. Oh and chances are you haven't had a life experience where all you said was "Wind, wind, wind, wind, wind."

I mean don't get me wrong, I liked Talim and all, but that was for the game, not real life.

I Would never be like that guy in Japan who married that pillow.

I'm not stereotyping. You don't know how much I would rather have Li Long over Maxi but I moved on ages ago because its not that serious.

Every day I get HIGH, HIGH, HIGH and Every night I get HIGH, HIGH, HIGH. -Styles P lol.

That's fine. I'm probably the biggest Leon (From Resident Evil) fan but I didn't throw a fit when he wasn't in RE3 or RE5. I just said damn maybe next time and that was it.

I Would never be like that guy in Japan who married that pillow.
Fucking hilarious though.

Being flexible is very important, but I say if Sophitia were in SC V I would be happier but oh well.
