When Do You Think SCVI Will Be Announced?

He's not making himself look like an idiot. He has a point. Just Guard is fairly easy to perform and removing it from the series would be idiotic unless they had intricate reasons due to an engine change etc. etc.

Now, on topic, I really REALLY don't want Harada to even touch my Soul Calibur. The only time it'd be acceptable is if PS needed help touching up the renders as they did in SC3 with both Setsuka and Tira. And about the renders, please PS don't be prudes and just bring back the SCIV jiggle physics (optional lol). And for Pete's sake please give the females the right cup size corresponding to the art. That or tell the artist to not exaggerate so much.

I honestly hope the next iteration will be announced this November. That, or DLC in November. If not then sometime mid 2013.

I actually like JG. I don't see why people are so against it. It's at least as good a test of your timing as GI used to be, and you get a similar reward, except now the opponent has no chance to counter you.

SCIV's weren't bad, but I personally think the Tekken jiggle physics are perfect. They have more of a perky bounce rather than this exaggerated bags-of-water motion going on. And these character models are very disappointing compared to the promise we got from the artwork.

And yes, whoever was the artist for SC3 needs to come back. that was the most beautiful game in the series, especially regarding character nationalities reflected in their features.

And I don't think there's any way they'd steal TTT2's thunder by announcing anything for SCV in these next few months.

I loved SCIV, I don't think they had to redeem anything from that considering we thought it'd be the last one.

Please, do NOT make a "Super" Soulcalibur V. It sounds really gay and makes us want to copy capcom.

I doubt there will be a sixth one.

As for the JG discussion, if you still can't do it then you haven't practiced enough.

When Wandarian ways things like "why are you presenting your opinions as fact?" When I never did such a thing. Never once did I say that it was fact, but rather my opinion. When someone says "I don't think so", that is in no way trying to present a fact.

THAT was what I was disputing. He made the same stupid claim in another thread and HRD put him in his place.

I personally hate JG because it ruins frame traps because you can just option select JG. It ruins Vertical/Horizontal mix ups. Other characters benefit from it more than others (Ex. Pyrrha may get 65 damage from a JG'd BB, Sieg or Astaroth get a throw mix up, no guaranteed damage.) Frame advantage doesn't mean much with JG in the game. You can also JG tech traps. Viola can JG the GI stun if someone GIs her orb and punish with 3B. I don't see anything good about JG.
Other notes: Only people I've heard that like it are people that play characters with strong punishers. Lol

I play Nightmare, a character tremendously weakened by JG. I see no problem with it even playing folks that try to JG a lot.

What do you know Idle? TELL US YOUR SECRETS.

I know nothing is happening in November.

I mean they told you when something is going to happen pre-release, with their statement of "we would like to revisit the game after 6 months, and then a year."

People need to stop freaking out.

IMO those who don't like jG either cant do it or don't understand the depth it adds. It supply's higher rewards for predicting your enemy or for having on point execution.

It certainly does not ruin frame traps, unless your only thinking one move ahead. If you were expecting an opponent to jG after frame trap than you can always do a slower possibly guard break heavy move, or go for a grab. Get him used to that and go back to fast moves.

Its all about reverse mix-ups and mind games. jG just deepens the possibilities and changes your options.

As for SC6, Im honestly not very confident there will be a next one unfortunately. The community seems to be dying faster than 4...

EDIT:
JI in sc4 was much easier than JG is in sc5, which worked great against the spam.
NO it wasn't. That's no opinion, its a fact. JI was single frame man. jG you have forever to do it.

I still don't think there's going to be a VI, as much as I love the series and wish that it could go a little longer. V was good but it wasn't great, and Soul Calibur isn't that much of a priority for Namco, and why should it be? Everyone's in to FPS's, RPGs and 2d fighters. SC's just... In it's own corner. It's like the kid that never talks that you dislike at first just because even though they're great.

What they SHOULD do is sell the series to people actually willing to go the extra mile to make it great. Maybe do what they did with the Tomb Raider series after AoD. Hopefully they'd stay true to the overall story in that event unlike AoD. That's my only concern in that case.

Yeah, Tekken's is pretty good.

SC3 IMO had the best outfits for everyone. Tira, Setsuka, Sophitia, Cassandra, to name a few. They all looked beautiful.

I hope Namco sells the SC license and that company doesn't make another SC, just a game with the SC engine with all new characters. Just a new series period. At least without Viola and Zwei. None of that magic shit.

Please note all the below are my opinion.

What reward? A throw mix up or B6 if that. Big deal. In my opinion all it does is make the top characters even better than they already were. Also in my opinion a 7 frame window isn't exactly "On point execution."

You can attempt to JG and still step. Also you can JG and still break grabs. It's all about reaction speed.

Frame advantage shouldn't be a reverse mix up for slower characters. JG doesn't even have any risk involved if you option select JG. The second part of that statement also doesn't apply to slower characters. It doesn't deepen anything.
