Oh god... I pray that doesn't happen... But you can already tell with the new cast to a degree that they are nothing more than anime cliches. I mean, the old cast were too but not to the nauseating degree the newbies are right now. I just pray SC doesn't turn into a "ULTRA ANIME-DESU WEEABOO" paradise. Half of the reason of what drew me to Soul Calibur was their meshing of fantasy meets realism with slight anime influence. But that's just me.

The game's too dominated by Western Styles with a blatant unbalanced ratio of 16/6/1. There are only 6 characters from the East who represent Eastern Culture or have eastern styles (Leixia, Xiba, Natsu, Maxi, Yoshimitsu and Mitsurugi). Everyone else is mostly western-cultured and this appears to be a blatant step backwards for a series where diverse characters from around the world clash with each other.

Now it's just European fighters with a few token Asian fighters. Did Project Soul decide to ignore Africa, North America, the Middle-East and other parts of Asia apart from China and Japan?

There's a word that I'm thinking of that starts with an R and it has an I and an A.

Rabias. Which is French for third-rate and cheap.

You're better than this Project Soul, please don't repeat this in SCVI or the Rabias will turn into another six-letter word starting with R and that will hurt sells worst than SCV did.

PS: Kilik doesn't count cause he's a mimic now. Algol stands alone because his civilization is further into the past than Zasalemel.

I read through your post and saw a huge flaw with your reasoning. I decided to make a realistic race chart of SC5 and it clearly shows Asian people outnumbering any other race depicted in the game. If anything, they needed to remove some of the Asians, to help balance the game out. Here is my list, enjoy.

Since Patroklos was raised by Setsuka is he Japanese now? Or is he Turkish?

A. He's a vampire so he's not human. I don't lump non humans in the white category.

B.After extensive research, calling him French means you are an Idiot. It was clearly a typo in his storyline. Biggest evidence, no French man can dance the Flamenco. Also his love for white bitches indicates he's another race. Raph has white fever.

Setsuka was raised/adopted in japan.

Rock took up native american culture after he washed ashore in North America.

My point was more focused on cultural background than racial. Patroklos would still be european/ottoman (turkish)/greek because that's how he was raised. Setsuka was an instructor who taught him her fighting style.

Wasn't Patroklos raised by his father? That's what the artbook says that came with the special edition.

I understand this is mostly just for the lulz, but Spanish people are technically white (Iberian/South European with Celtic and Roman influences). I'll give you Mediterranean, but sure as fuck not Latino. That refers to the intense ethnic mixing of Amerindian, African, and European people in parts of the Americas colonized by speakers of romance languages (or Latin-derived, aka Spanish/Portuguese). The difference is pretty clear: Spanish vs Latino.

The Rapier argument is also moot, as people from England, France, Italy, Germany, and many other places also used them (in fact, the word Rapier is German). You do have a point with the Flamenco though, but none of this matters because, as I said before, Spanish ≠ Latino.

Oh, and Zwei is white as fuck, just darker than the rest of the white cast (Mediterranean maybe? Romani?).

Other than that your list is pretty accurate.

As you can see I listed some non SC blacks, but it's rather sad to see Zas as the only one. I'd like to see something unique with a black person or two....

Talim is a vegan if I remember correctly. Sexual preference of characters have not always been clear. There have been brown people (Rock & Zasalamel?) and arguably turquoise people. (Astaroth SC2 and SC3 outfits?) There have also been depressed people (Phyrra?), and bipolar people, (Tira for sure).

I'm probably over thinking your post but yeah.
