In addition to this, it is important to remember that laws encouraging discrimination against black people continued to exist in many parts of the country until very recently. This still has an effect in American culture.

I'd also like to add how fucked up many people's perception of race is in many partss of . White people from places other than Northern EU or NA are often considered be "impure" or "not fully white," to the point where "Hispanic" is a separate option in census and polls, regardless of the person's actual ethnicity (so a German-Chilean, an "indio" Mexican, and an Afro-Dominican would all fall under the same category). This stems from all the way back to before the Civil War, when the rich plantation owners spread racist propaganda to ensure anyone who wasn't an educated Anglo-Saxon would remain in the lower end of the social spectrum (which is where bullshit myths like "THE BLACK IRISH" and "THE MOORS WERE NIGGERS" come from).

What's fucked up is that these ideas remain widely accepted among the general public. There is a gigantic stigma to racial mixing outside of large liberal cities like NYC or LA, to the point where most neighborhoods are racially homogeneous. You've even got people who cast their vote based solely on the race of the politicians.... many people voted against Obama just because of his black ancestry, and many voted for him for that same reason.
 
Im pretty sure zas b+k was named pimp hand in his movelist specifcally because he was black.

I think this guy wanting zas is racist because he doesnt want to play as an asian or white character.

Not liking certain characters based on race is fucked up man.
in sc6 we need a knights templar character who is a white supremecist. I think it will be a great addition

yeah but he didnt say it was wrong to feel comfortable with others who look like you its only wrong when you exclude thos who dont look like you and arguing agaisnt me makes it seem like your for the latter. how can SC live by the code of MLK if black characters cant confer with white characters because theyre arent any. im not excluding white characters im saying add a black one in the mix. you have no good reason to be against me asking this question because im not excluding like you all seem to want but im including, adding, fuckin, apparatusing whatever. it will add to the game not take away, but you arguing ohterwise makes you sound like a segragationist.

black is an overiding identity, includes alot of people of african decent where as persian is very specific.Persians are considered Arabs (though that can be aruged as much as white ppl like to argue that ancient egyptians wernt black) and arab would be to black what persian is to nigerian. seeing that it is more diffuclt to pin down and the black demographic is easier to lump in one group it would be more profitable to add a black character than a persian but HELLS YEAH if the want a character let them take the initiative and ask for one or send them a character model

its funny how every one is raging at me for standing up for something im somewhat passionate about but when trash like this comes on the thread you guys dont say shit. i play as tira, raphael, workshoping yoshimitsu, and workshopping hilde by the way.

I'm fine with Zas coming back. I just don't agree with your ideology at all. You make it sound like this great travesty that Namco, a Japanese video game company removed a black dude. Like somehow this is what is wrong with the world. It isn't, you are full of shit. You act the victim and call "racist" at every turn you can. But at the same time you call people Nazi's and KKK members? If we want to keep talking about MLK. He was a strong advocate against militancy. He also wanted all races to get along. How is barging in here, calling everyone a racist. Calling white dudes derogatory terms and other insults even remotely what MLK wanted? When you look at Rosa Parks who fought to sit on the same side of the bus as white people and then take a look at your struggle. Your struggle pretty much looks like a joke. You are basically saying that it's wrong to have no black people in anything, so if there was no black people on a TV advertisement this would be wrong? In the UK black people are quite a minority compared to white people so a lot of them call us racist for the tiniest things.

According to Wikipedia, U.S. population consists of 12.6% black people. And that 12.6% should be in video games 100%. Because to leave them out would be 100% racist and 100% "segragationist". You understand Mage?

Persians may be random to you. But if Namco wants it's product to sell in Persia. According to your logic, it needs a Persian character to sell. TBH, other than you. I doubt many people go, "Oh, there's a black character in this game, okay, I'll buy it". I assume the average gamer in America goes, "Oh, that game looks fun, I'll buy it". Giving little thought to the racial diversity of the game. Therefore making your point of adding black people into fighting games to boost sales a moot one. Honestly Namco would bump their sales more by adding a character like Link or Darth Vader back in the game. Since I have heard multiple people buy this game because of gimmicks like that. Not once have I heard that someone buy SC3 or SC4 because Zas was in it, not one.

no, im saying its wrong for you to bar me from asking, certainy not everthing needs a black person shoved in it though it would probably be more realistic but a game that used to pride itself on diversity definitely has more responsibility say then Games of Thrones or the first Assasssins Creeds. the assassin creed during the american revolution oh they have a big fucking responsibilty but the first Assassin Creed not so much.

LOL here's where your skewed American perceptions fuck you up. There is only one black ethnicity in North America: mutt African American. Forced interbreeding of slaves from different parts of west Africa plus master-to-slave rape and random mating with Irish servants earlier on created a homogeneous black ethnicity, which later went on to populate different parts of the country. Black is an all encompassing ethnicity in America, only history deniers have a problem understanding this. Same with white Americans, they're all mutts with blood from all over Europe and traces of black.
