Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

My biggest worry about reused assets is some of the CaS items fit so horribly they were basically unusable and it means they may not incorporate needed changes to CaS such as a butt slider.

On one hand, reused means they can recycle and add to all the old stuff, on the other hand starting over would mean they might be able to get it more right and not have such problems.

I think my problem lies with their approach to additional content. Soul Calibur 5 had a lot of stuff absent from Soul Calibur 4, so we didn't even get all the custom items from 4 into 5. Chances are, they will take assets from 5 and stuff them into 6 as item packs just out pure laziness. If they were taking everything from 4 and 5 and adding them into 6, that would be nice, but they strangely don't do that. They save most of the content for DLC.

Other than Grøh's edgy AF lines, the voicing is fine. And fairly well written as far as sc goes
Hence why I specifically said voice acting rather than dialogue. Even Grøh's edgy dialogue isn't poorly acted. I just hope that the script in the story mode is decent enough. While SC5's wasn't too bad, it had its moments that made me go "Someone actually thought that was a good line?" more than most games do. So here's hoping the script writer for this game is better than the last one.

Yeah 5 was missing the cutest hair from 4 for example as well as all the pretty dresses.
 
So, are you expecting a reveal late May ? Remember, between Siegfried's and Taki's reveal trailer, there was a 3 weeks-gap. So, if BN's still continue like this, we can have something around May 24th... or nothing between E3.
 
I dare anyone here listen to any MK voice acting and come back here and say SCVI has bad voice acting. The only one that I don't like is Taki, but because it is the same voice actor as 4, I'm pretty sure of it at least, I blame on the voice director going "Eeeeeeeh, ninjas are stoic and bored".

On the re-used assets point, I don't min IV and V were, if nothing else, extremely pretty games, in fact is kinda jarring how Tekken 6 looks so much worse than SCIV, so I don't really mind.
 
Comparing anything NRS does to another company in regards to models, animations, sound design, implementation (basically anything at all), is low hanging fruit man.
 
So far everybody seems to have the same voice except for Mitsubishi and Sophitia.
I'm pretty sure Sophitia still has the same voice she had previously, if you listen to her voice in SCIV and compare it to SCVI it sounds really similar just spoken differently. Not too mention her voice was used for "Young Lady" creation voice in SCV which sounds nothing like Sophitia. Shows her voice actress has good range ^^

Nah, it's for sure different. I recognise the different voice actresses for both games. SC6 is Erica Lindbeck and SC4 is definitely someone different.
 
Im playing Mortal Kombat X, and its "funny" that even a 2015 game using the same engine, looks better that SC6 :(
