I choose Setsu, Hilde Rock and Dampierre. For the first two they are quite probable. The latter two - not so much. Still would enjoy them a lot of they returned

Well Hwang is like almost confirmed in my eyes already. But so is Setsu... It seems I just don't care much about him anyways because Rock is more in my type

I understand, but don't much make sense Rock comes first than Aeon, because his main focus in SC 1 is fight against

But one horrible day, the grand priest of the cult order Fygul Cestemus, Kunpaetku, sent out a group of lizard men, lead by Aeon Calcos, to kidnap the Native boy and lure Rock out to steal his soul.

He searched for a long time and eventually defeated Aeon Calcos in a battle, at the cost of his trusty axe.

They can absolutely retcon anything they want. Basically it will all depend on character's popularity and/or financial viability. At least that's how I see it

There’s no need to retcon, nor have they given reason to suspect they would. Aeon is Rock’s final boss, yes, but Aeon did a lot more rampaging than just taking Bangoo. They can release them in either order.

If Rock comes first, then he’ll fight Lesser Lizardman style Aeon, unless Rock/Aeon is a dual pack, where the roster character is Rock and bonus Aeon custom style and official parts, where the style will replace all the Lesser Lizardmen or at the very least, the existing Aeon encounter in Libra of Soul. But if Aeon comes first, they’ll do his story up to his kidnapping Bangoo, teasing Rock for season three. It really could go either way.

It could but I am still unconvinced that story is that important for character inclusion. I mean that would be great, don't get me wrong but I keep on thinking that story is a secondary if not tertiary reasoning behind character inclusion

Cassandra and Amy are in the limelight to be heroes for SoulCalibur VII, even, to get away from it always being about Siegfried and Nightmare, which is another big thing they’re doing, giving everyone, or mostly everyone, a focus point for their part in the greater whole for the story, with the lack of what if fantasies and everything being canon now. Story absolutely matters, and they aren’t radically changing history, at least not yet. We have to frame characters in “before SoulCalibur II” to warrant their inclusion. It’s true of literally everyone so far, and suddenly changing the aims now wouldn’t make sense.

Well as of now the choices were quite easy because both Cass and Amy are really popular and by that - profitable to include. The same can't be said about most of the rest of cast. But - and that is a really important butt - I really do hope I am wrong and that what you say will end up being true in the end

Honestly, I really do hope they've developed the sense to reveal each Season 2 character over the course of the next few months rather than just leaving us in the dark until 2020 and expecting us to buy the SP blindly.
Their marketing team must be bored to tears with almost nothing to do

Hwang, Setsuka, and Aeon. If we're really lucky though Aeon comes in as a free thank-you DLC to the fans since his moveset is partially there and we get Hilde as the last Season 2 character instead. I doubt that Bandai Namco as a corporation is as generous as SNK is though but who knows, here's hoping Okubo works his magic.

Oh guys, this is such a treasure to me. I can spend hours dwelling on concept art and this baby contains some SC1 concepts which i had not been aware of. And the known ones are in HD even. Thanks a bunch!

Does anyone have similar sources for other SC concept art? I've harvested the soul archives already, but suspect that there are more treasures hidden in the artbooks.

I would like to have these books and read all the details about character creation, influences, sketches, etc. Maybe we can make a Paypal pool, buy all of these, have someone with a scanner and knowledge on how to debind books do a scanning of these book!

I wouldn't recommend this if you're after artbooks. This is a strategy guide for the game. It does show the main illustration for each playable character, but I'm pretty sure Namco released those digitally in higher resolution on the game's official site.
